can anyone reccomend a villa??

We are hoping to go in 2012 and are debating between on and off site.

We've never been to Florida with the children and i have never driven abroad so am a bit reluctant to stay off site.

I've had a look through google but there are hundreds so wondered if anybody could reccomend any that they have stayed at?? there will be 10 of us travelling 2 of those are young children and 1 is a 16 year old.

If you dont want to drive then why dont you stay at WDW, staying at a villa you will need a car as some are a good distance away. Someone with greater knowledge of villas will be able to give better advice on locations etc.

I would recommend staying at Windsor Hills Resort. It is only 1.5 miles away from Disney, and is a great resort with a very large pool with waterslide, a movie theater, playgrounds, basketball/volleyball/tennis courts. I know of a great townhouse with a pool that I stayed at. Please send me a private message if you are interested

I would think a TH would be too small as they only have 3 bedrooms and the OP said there are 10 of them. WH is a lovely resort though - we have stayed there 3 times now

We have stayed in a villa on all of our visits and have a shortlist of ones that we would recommend to friends and family.
Unfortunately I am at work at the moment and haven't got access to the list but once I get home this evening I will send you the links to the ones that are big enough for your needs - unless Mrs Pegasus comes along before that and she may well beat me to it

Hiya we are family with DD 9 and DS 6, have stayed in a villa, off site and wdw onsite. we go wdw onsite every time now as we find with the free disney dining plan it works out great value and convenient. I would add though we have only been visiting the disney parks when staying onsite (apart from seaworld) and using their free transport. so i would say if you are looking to do universal aswell you will need a car. Good luck planning, where ever you choose to stay its all about your individual needs and taste.

we have just arrived back from a 6 bed villa in Davenport which was spectacular. 5 mins to the I-4 and 20 mins from Disney.

You really shouldn't be worried about driving in the USA - I was and it is so much easier than UK driving!!

We prefer to stay offsite in a villa.
Last time we went in 2007 we stayed at a 5 bed in lindfields that was lovely.
The people that own it also own a few others in the area and they are also on their website.
The couple were really helpful and answered any questions that we had very quickly.
We also had our deposit returned very fast.
Would recommended them without hesitation.

Hi we are having the same dilemma as a child I always stayed off site at International drive since having my own Family we have only stayed on site twice at Disneys Pop century and LOVED IT! and this yr 3 wks at AKL and actually kids by their 3 rd wk wanted to be back at Pop century which was just our luck after spending a flipping fortune
Well next time in 2012 their will be myself hubby our 3 boys who will be 7,7,10 my mum the In-laws and maybe a couple of friends, Now I love staying On site as transport is sooooo brilliant!!! and so is DDP wether its free or not, but I do find the boys this yr could have done with a few nights out of each wk were they ate some home cooked food had a bath watched tv in their own room and had a at home style sleep...( hope that makes sense)
So this is where the Villa comes in sooo lost on that one haha as would that then make disney eating cost us the earth ...it did the 1st yr i took my family best part of $2000 just on food and tips were as this y we bunged $500 on a gift card had DDP standerd and that covered all our food drinks the lot for 3 wks let me know if you come up ith any fab info.
I just wanted to add that they are building that new hotel that will be Value priced and be studios that hold 6 to 8 I heard im trying to wait it on and getmore info as that might just be perfect solution and best of both worlds
