we are travelling by tube if that helps

We love the Sofitel St James, which is on Lower Regent Street, just down from Piccadilly - very central, but really quiet, and Rose Tea Room is amazing....we stayed there last week and including breakfast (otherwise £21 each), we paid £145 for the room. Not bad for 5* in London. We've stayed there a few times now, and it really is lovely.

Have a wonderful time, wherever you decide to stay x

We stayed at the Ramada Hyde park last year its obviously right opposite the park which is lovely to go and have a relaxing walk through.

We like the Royal Lancaster at Lancaster Gate

not sure about how close it is, but as there is a tube stop right opposite, we stayed in 2003 at the Baileys Millenium in Kensington, 5 star 150 per night and we got a suite upgrade. We stayed for 2 nights and saw Chicago and Mouse Trap. In fact the good lady enjoyed it so much, 9 months later Boy was born!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We stayed at the Hotel Russel in Russel Square, it was near the tube station. We used the buses to get around! It is a lovely hotel and we thought it was very reasonably priced.

For some luxury, we absolutely love the Mandarin Oriental. We have always had truly exceptional service - the staff really go above and beyond. It's in a great location, too - and the individual floor concierge service is wonderful.

The Travel Inn at County Hall is usually a reasonable price - as in the one in Drury Lane....I think they're Travel Inns anyway! LOL - Will have to double check now!

Checked and the County Hall is a Travel Inn (right by the London Eye) and the Drury Lane hotel is a Moat House Hotel.
