Can anyone give me estimated taxi charges within Disney propery?

We'll be staying at ASMo. On occasion we might not want to do Disney Transportation, so we're considering a taxi. What are the approximate costs for taxi service from ASMo. to the WDW parks?

Also: do you need to call for the taxi or is it easy to find them waiting outside your resort?

No, but if you can find the Mears website (I thought it was mears-transportation.com, but please DON'T quote me - do a search), apparently there's a taxi fare calculator.

We've used taxi's to avoid the crowds at the parks. I can't give you an exact price, but I don't think we paid more that $20, usually around $10-$15, not including tip to get from one point to another. At the parks and Downtown Disney, we could usually find taxi's waiting for fares. At the resorts, like the Boardwalk after a night at Jellyrolls, we had to ask a CM to call a taxi. It's a great time saver and a nice break from the busses after a long day at the parks, so we don't mind occasionally paying a little extra for the convienence.
