Can anybody verify the last date for the Osbourne Lights?

Soooo nearly 8 months ago when rumors started circulating that this would be the last year for the Osbourne Family Lights we began to plan our trip. We had never been down over the holidays to see the castle or the Osbourne Lights as our sons winter break was just never long enough while he was in HS. This year he's in college and has a much longer break so we decided this would be the year to go. We've been down over MLK weekend a couple of times before but they were always off by then. My cousin has gone down for the marathon several times and said the lights were still on then so we thought we'd be OK to go after the holidays. When I started planning I tried to search when the last day would be and the general consensus was they would be on at least thru Jan. 4th. So, to avoid some of the holiday / New Years crowds we planned to go down on Jan. 2nd. I could have just as easily planned Jan. 1st but figured may as well make it as crowd free (read: pain free) as I could.

Fast forward to last night and I got a text from my cousin who's still planning for their trip during the marathon & she sent me a screen shot of something saying that the lights were only on thru Jan. 1st!! YIKES! SAY WHAT?! We're both in a panic now!! Can anybody help me verify when the last day is? I planned our first night on Jan. 2nd at HS so we could see the lights. Then I planned our 2nd night at MK so we could see the castle. Now I'm wondering if that will be on either? Who / what / where can I find these answers? It should be published somewhere, right?

Thank you so much! Looks like we will be OK then on Jan. 2nd if we can manage to GET INTO the park….but my cousin & her friends will be SOL. Bummer for her and her group.

Wonder if we'll need to plan for some sort of a strategy to GET there (it's a Saturday night). Our plane lands around 2:00 so I figure with DME we should be at SSR by 4:00 & then we'll head straight there. I was reading some crazy stories about people trying to even GET to the park...

Yep, it has been pretty insane, with the DHS parking lot closing early in the day, and traffic causing huge delays.

From SSR, I'd say your best bet might be to walk over to DS and get a bus to Beach Club, Yacht Club, or Boardwalk, then walk to DHS.

Yeah - we've walked from BW & BC to Epcot but never to HS. I think it's probably closer to walk from BW to HS tho. Since it will be our first day at least we won't be on our last legs & our feet will still be fresh & ready to go!! When I read on another thread that the line for the Friendship boats to leave was all the way back to the Christmas tree in the front of the HS gates I knew we were in for a mess!! Now I have to worry that the park doesn't reach capacity or something before we can get there! Thanks!
