I was originally booked a standard room at the GF, with the hopes of a discount. Discounts came out today, with nothing available at the GF. I asked if there was anything at the WL and they told me the only thing available was the Honeymoon suite, I asked her to price it for me, thinking it was out of my budget though and it still came in a couple hundred dollers lower than our GF standard room, so I switched.

HOWEVER I know nothing about the concierge level there, or what type of view to expect from this room or ANYTHING!!!

Any help, input would be appreciated!

Thanks

hello... YES I can tell you all about it!
I stayed there in 2005 (october)
We stayed in suite 7084. It was a great room!!!
I can post pics when I get home from work!!!
Ask me questions.. What would you like to know?? :)

I might as well just tell you about it while i'm here ;)
There are 4 honeymoon suites at the WL. All are on the 7th floor. You will need your 'key to the world card' to get up to the 7th floor from the elevator. now, room 7084 is on the same side as the whispering canyon cafe. We watched the fireworks from our balcony almost nightly!!! IT WAS AMAZING!!!
We coudn't see the castle though, but it didnt' matter. it was just awesome!!!
The tub was marble with a whirlpool. There's a small window in the shower. it's funny.. you can see the daytime 'fireworks' from the shows from the window.
Now onto the lounge...
It's a nice room. All day long there are things to munch on. In the morning breakfast (bagels, pastries,etc.., juices, coffee, teas, etc...)
Cheese and crackers, stews, cookies, brownies, pretzels, sodas, liquor. Very relaxing. Me and DH probably gained 10 lbs just from the concierge offerings.
I would ask for one of the rooms 'castle side'. 7084 and 7085 are the 2 on that side.
Any questions?! ;)

I stayed there in Dec 2005 and thought it was better than our actual honeymoon room at the GF! The jacuzzi tub was great! Concierge staff couldn't have been nicer. The room was spacious. OUr view was of the WL Villas but I didn't mind. I'd be happy to try and answer questions if you had any specific ones. Have a great trip!

We stayed in a honeymoon suite in 1997 (before the room refurb and the change to club level) and loved the room.

Here's some more information:

- the room has a king-sized bed
- we stayed on the VWL side of the building; this was before the villas were there, so the view was of the bus stop and woods
- the room is probably slightly smaller than a standard room, but the bathroom is MUCH bigger; we just got back from WL a few weeks ago, and the standard bathroom was a bit of a letdown from the honeymoon room
- because the balcony is part of the roof line, it has solid walls, not a railing; this is a positive from a privacy standpoint, but you really can't see out and down without standing
- we were awoken every morning by the WCC dinner bell (I'm not sure that they still ring it and yell "come 'n get it!"); this was at about 7:30 a.m. each morning as the rooms are directly above the lobby; overall, lobby noise is not that noticeable; beautiful view down to the lobby, BTW

I'm sure you'll love the Lodge. I have stayed at the GF (before I was married) and have visited it a few times since with my wife (for dinner at Victoria and Albert's). IMHO, the WL is a little more romantic. In a lot of ways (again, my opinion) the GF appears so perfect that it lacks an interesting character. The WL has tons of neat places to explore, relax and enjoy.
