Can any homeschoolers who use Sonlight help a girl out?

I'm very confused!

I've never used Sonlight before, and I've been looking over this stuff for two days now, and I'm still confused when it comes to what I need. I think I've got it all together now, but I would love it if some of you experienced Sonlighter's could tell me if I'm leaving out something, or maybe if I have TOO much stuff! :teeth:

I guess this if for your 14 yo dd? I would think about the Saxon 8/7- the grade level on that is remedial 8, regular 7. We're using 8/7 with out seventh grader.

You decided against the alt 6 core, I guess?

It looks like you have everything you need. I order the standard core+LA at the same level+ math+science and whatever comes with it. We also use Spelling Power, but we're almost done with that. Are you including foreign language? My kids like Rosetta Stone. I'm not crazy about it, but my learning style is very different than the format used by RS. We didn't subscribe to My Access, but we did buy Writers Inc.

Did you decide for your 7 year old yet?

I have a totally different list now! :rotfl:

This is actually from when a first started looking into Sonlight a few months ago.

I think I've decided on the Core Alt.6 for my DD, with the Rosetta Stone French 1, and the Teaching Textbooks Pre-Algebra.I'm debating on doing the Saxon Math 8/7 kit as well just because DD has such a hard time with math.

For my DS I'm going with Core K, with the level 1 Readers, and I'm thinking about Horizons Math, but I'm not really sure about it at this point. I'm going to order an extra workbook, and let him do French 1 with DD also.
They will also have a French tutor twice a week.

From what I read on the Sonlight Forums, I may wait on the My Access.

I'm still unsure about what exactly I'm going to order, but at least I'm not quite as confused! :rotfl2:

Thanks Again!

Wow, I guess I should read the post dates, duh. It was way up at the top when I searched Sonlight.

Anyway- that sounds good. You'll have to let me know how it works out for you. I saw you over on a homeschool thread (the one that was locked) and thought about jumping in, but I have enough trouble with my local overseeing school. I don't need grief on the disboards, too. :lmao:

Some of the homeschool threads here on the Dis sure can get crazy sometimes huh?? ;)

Anyway, I'll keep an eye out for you. It's always nice to have another homeschooler using the same program around!
