Yep! Not a problem! We've done character meals as a family (all adult kids...my sister and I are both over 30) multiple times. We've also gotten pics either as small groupings or individually.
The most fun I had was when I went solo and treated myself to breakfast at 1900 Park Fare (sis and I had had breakfast at Ohanas earlier in the trip - she's a CM). The characters all took just as much time with me as they did everyone else. Tigger even came back repeatedly to "check on me" - well, I assumed since I kept getting my head Tigger-patted.
Go for it!!

... but who cares!!!! Sometimes people feel entitled because they have small children with them... but we're all the same paying customers

People have a right to their own feelings, and some adults care just as strongly about seeing the characters as your average child (and some children couldn't care less).
