Hi friends.

Question - With a 2 day park hopper pass, could it be upgraded to a 3 day Magic Your Way ticket, or would you have to simply buy a seperate 1 day MYW ticket?

It's a brand new park hopper, and has not been used at all, and was purchased from a Ticketmania type store in Kissimmee.

Thanks.

Not enough information about the old pass to give you a specific answer about your situation but in general, you can apply the value of most old tickets towards a new MYW. You will not get two days worth of admission when you do this, you will get the dollar value of the old one subtracted from the purchase price of the new one.

Now, if that ticket is a specialty ticket like the 2 day PHP or a 2 day convention ticket, you may very well find it is not upgradeable at all. The only way to find out for sure what you have and what you can do with it is to bring it to Guest Relations at a park or DTD and have them scan it. They will tell you what your options are.

In general, it is better to use the old tickets as they are than to upgrade. You only get the value of the ticket at the time you bought it as an offset to the upgrade. If you just use the ticket, then you get 2 days admission, no matter what the new price of admission is. I have been using old tickets for many years.I look for the best deal on the number of days and then buy those when my older tickets run out. A 10 day no expiration is usuallly the best deal and it makes future trips seem so much cheaper.

If you are going for three days and have two days left on an old ticket, use the old ticket as-is and buy a new ticket.

If you are going for 4 to 7 days, save the old ticket (if it is not going to expire) and buy a new ticket for the entire vacation.

If you are going for 8 to 10 days, save the old ticket (if it is not going to expire) and buy a new Expiring ticket for the entire vacation.

Partially used tickets more than 14 days old cannot have days, hopping, etc. added.

Generally, as was stated by Golden Oldie, it is more to your favor financially to use all old tickets as they are. If you are going to buy new ones that expire, use them 1st and save the others for later, as they don't expire until completely used.

Also, if you do decide to apply the amount of the remaining days credit toward a new ticket, be advised that whatever options you have on the old ticket MUST apply toward the new. So, if you have a 7 day PH plus, they you will have to apply the amount toward at least a 7 day PH w/ MPP and no expiration. It gets tricky!
