If ordering at QS, paying OOP, can an adult order a child's meal? I'm mostly wondering for my son who is 11, and an "adult" in Disney's eyes.

Likewise, any table service meal, that is NOT a character meal, can he order from the child's menu?

Yes. An adult can order from the kids menu the vast majority of the time. There have been a couple reports of it not being allowed, but at QS, you won't have any issues. For TS, you shouldn't have any issues, but there could be the odd CM that doesn't allow it.

I've heard that some TS that are sticklers about the age will give an adult portion of the kid's menu (at an adult price).

I can't speak for TS, but for QS, we had no issues. Often times my wife and/or I just wanted a smaller meal, and often the kids meal comes with a drink and a side, so that worked out perfect. And if the QS has mobile ordering capability, USE IT. So much faster and efficient. Often we would walk past a line 20-30 people deep either waiting to order or waiting for their food, who would stare at us like we had 3 heads because we walked up, grabbed our food, and were gone in less than a minute.

I think they need to rename them from kids meals to Jr/Sr meals, or something like that. My 81 yo mother ate almost exclusively from the kids menu. The adult meals led to so much wasted food for her.

Yup. Much better value too! Adult portions are too big for me anyways! I figure it's the same as ordering a happy meal at McDonalds. Shouldn't really matter who is ordering it.

Almost every TS restaurant will allow adults to order from the kid's menu....AS LONG AS the meal is not an all you can eat meal. Buffets, family style, skillets, etc, he will be charged as an adult.

I order kids meals at QS for myself often, and it's not a problem.

My 14 year old (he's 5'10" and has facial hair so nobody is going to ever think he is 9 or under) has ordered fromt he kids menu at table service restaurants without a cast member ever questioning him.

Does anyone know if BOG for dinner will let us order from the kids menu and double it to adult portions?

I order from the kids menu at TS frequently as I also find the portions to be huge. One caveat, though- if the kids meal includes a dessert or drink per the menu, I have found that they might include the drink, but not the dessert.

At QS, the first few times I ordered a child's meal, I didn't know if it was OK, so I made a big pretense of "She wants..." and "I think she'd like..." pretending I was ordering for my invisible child. Then, about the 5th time, the CM asked "Would you like to substitute a small soda for the milk?" and I realized that she knew it was for me, and it was OK. Since then, I've totally given up the pretending and never had a problem.

1) At any ala carte eatery, anyone can order anything of any menu and pay the menu price.
2) Examples:
. . . child ordering from adult menu
. . . adult ordering from child menu
. . . adults or children splitting (sharing) a menu item

Haha, I got a chuckle out of this!

Anyway, this is great information to know and I really wasn't sure if they would allow you to order off of the child's menu at any Disney restaurants, tbh.
