Can a "single" diner go to Palo's or would I be too uncomfortable?

I'm a single Mom and have read sooo many nice things about Palo... is it for couples only? Perhaps I'll find another single parent on my cruise to dine together... but do I tempt fate and make ressies hoping for a dinner partner? I'm used to dining alone... so that's not an issue unles it's all couples, no foursomes, etc... and very romantic... then, my heart would just burst!!! Thoughts?

You would not feel out of place at all. While it is romantic....it isn't overtly romantic that places others in an uncomfortable manner. We've had friends go by themselves. Others have found groups on the disboards and they went as a larger group. Your server will undoubtedly give you some extra TLC ... you will love it. Go for it and enjoy.

I've seen couples, foursomes, and even larger groups.

If you feel comfortable going yourself go ahead and do it! Have you checked the meets thread for your cruise. You must might find others from your group who don't want to dine along or who would like to dine with a group.

Palo is nice... but I wouldn't say it's overly romantic. Our server was great and chatted with us alot... so I'm sure if you were alone, your server would interact with you even more. Request a table by the window, enjoy the view and the delicious food :earsgirl:

Thanks... I've posted on the "Singles board" and will do the same on our cruise thread... Thanks for the feedback.. as always... a wealth of information and opinions that you just can't get anywhere else!! :disrocks:

For the record, I am married.

If for some reason I was on the cruise without my DH, I would absolutely go to Palo by myself!

Kimmielee, I dined solo in Palo. It was great! My server and the rest of the staff do everything they could to make me feel welcome. I got just as much attention as a couple nearby.

Hmmm Solo in Palo--I'm onto something!

clh - how about a countdown timer to the next counterdown timer? :rotfl:
Thanks for your post... it's helpful!!

I was thinkin of that as well...going to Palo while my kids were in the clubs... but I'll probably just stick to the regular rotation.
I'm just glad to know there are other solo/single parents going...hopefully I find some to talk to while my kids ditch me...LOL

Single cruisers...GO FOR IT!! If I was sailing alone, I would definitely go to Palo. Your server will make you feel very welcome, and you won't feel out of place at all. Otherwise, you might be able to link up with someone here or at your regular table on the ship. Hubby and I have linked up with single cruisers at Palo a couple of times and have had a blast. We eat dinner together every day, so it's not a particularly "romantic" experience for us. We have just as much fun dining with others.
