Husband joining me for a one day visit and I'd like to print his ticket at home to avoid the lines at the ticket booths. We might be entering from the DTD security entrance. If we do that, would he be able to use the ticket to for park entry at the monorail? I have never noticed if they gave out the smaller one day tickets there (for fast passes). Thanks.

Not certain of the answer, but I do know that if you are staying onsite they can exchange them for actual tickets when you check in.

Read the fine print on it!
I don't think they can issue you a full day ticket there as they don't have the same system as the front gate.

I've seen them take pictures at the gate, so would think they could. Does the paper have a bar code on it?

So I am unclear of the answer to the original question. If you can enter Disneyland via the monorail for the first use of your digital ticket, can they take your picture and issue a hard ticket at that entry point? If not, how do they handle this?

I think that the Monorail entrance can scan your first entry as long as your ticket/print out has a bar code. They will scan the bar code, take your photo, and give you a paper ticket. If for some reason they are unable to do this, they will direct you to the main entrance gate.
