can a guest have a reservation but not use magic bands or the app?

I am transferring a reservation I can't use (and can't bank the points) to a dear friend. She doesn't have a my disney experience account, nor the app. She and a few friends are just going to stay at the resort, go to the pool and venture out to Disney Springs. Does she have to have an account set up, does she have to do online check in, or can she and her guests just check in the regular way, get keycards and go on their merry way?

They can check in at the resort and have KTTW cards issued to them.

Make sure they are all listed on the reservation. They will all need the KTTW card to access the pool, open the door and charge to the room.
