Can a DVC member reconfirm another members reservation?

The reason I ask this is that I am travelling with a large family group and they will be renting their reservations from a DVC member. Would I (as a DVC member) be able to reconfirm the reservation even though I did not make it? I think this would just set their minds at ease. Anyone ever run into this???

It's certainly worth a try, but I don't think MS will allow you to check on another member's reservation unless you have the membership number and can provide information that would identify you as having access to that membership.

We've had reports where members have rented from others and MS has not given them any information about the reservation.

I was also wondering if that could be done. Let us know if you try, what they tell you.

They could add you as an associate member if they wanted, otherwise it's unlikely you will be allowed. The only other way to possibly get around it is if you were on the other reservations though they've gotten more strict about having one person on more than one reservation.

Not likely for a complete stranger as that would give you access to their account to make reservations and the like. But otherwise it's unlikely you can confirm the reservation other than with the resort itself a couple of days prior to arrival.

My brother made a ressie for me. I tried to confirm it (as I do with my own reservations), but even though I was a member, they wouldn't access it for me.

The answer is NO. I just got my monthly e-letter and only the member may check a reservation made under their membership number.
