So I want to purchase the deluxe AP. I was also looking to book the Paradise Pier for June 6,7,8 for 2 adults 3 kids aged 3,4,7 But it won't let me look at the rates for AP until I activate. If I book it will they give me a discount upon check out (after I activate) if there is one? Also can you tell me what the rate would be for planning purposes?

I'm getting $608 + tax, so $711.36 total.

I don't know about applying the discount once you've activated.

All that matters is you have an AP when you are there. So if you show the AP you will be good.

I was able to find out AP rates at PP for one of our trips by just calling and explaining to them I was planning on buying an AP and needed to find out what the room would cost before commiting. It was no problem, they gave me the costs right over the phone. (714) 956-6425

That said, you would have to wait until the AP rates are out for the timeframe you are looking to book.

If you look on the main disneyland website and click special offers you will see that they recently posted an offer of up to 30% the regular rate for annual passholders through June 9th. The PP is 30% off Sunday-Thursday and 20% off on Friday/Saturday. As the previous posters have said just call the reservation number, mention the special annual passholder rate and they will give you the rate without your pass being purchased or activated. I originally booked a stay using the spring special rate and was able to call back and have the rate lowered when the passholder spring special rate came out this week. They never even asked on the phone if I had purchased a pass yet. I would guess your total rate is going to be between $650-675 total with the discount.

And you asked for the AP rate when making the reservation. You can book the AP rate without having an AP; just do it by phone and say that you will be getting your AP when you are there. I don't believe you can just book under the regular booking code, get an AP when you are there, and then ask to be switched to the AP rate.

You are correct you don't book at the regular rate and then switch it when you are there. You book it at the AP rate and will be required to show them your activated AP while you are there. You do not need the pass to be purchased or activated when you book. I just booked an AP rate yesterday and my pass is not activated.

Can you count on it always being 10% or better? If we are there for a week, I should price out the difference of getting an AP instead of a 6 day pass if I get those savings back on the hotel? Is there a limit to the number of rooms available for the AP discount?

I wonder if the DLH AP rate is any better than the public discount I booked with a week ago? We are buying AP's anyhow so we'd like the best rate available.

I believe I got 20% off weekdays and 15% off the weekend at DLH with the public discount. (PP always seems to have the "top" discount of say, 30%).

Is the new AP rate better for us?

So PP is only 200 a night in early June? nice price...

Called today. The new AP rate saved us a little bit over the public discount. :)

You got your specific answer, but the general answer is "it depends!"

For our Feb trip I never got better than the "winter special". The AP rate just never hit the level that the public offer did. You always have to make sure for your own dates!
