We are planning to go as a party of 5. Our reservations are already made. My older son will be there at the same time with his Dad and so just wondering if 6 are ever permitted at any of the rooms at the Poly, or if we would even want to stay at the Poly with 6. I don't anticipate needing a room for 6, but want to be prepared just in case.

The only time 6 would be permitted in a regular room (not a suite) is if one of the guests was under 3.

The Princess Suite, Ambassador VP Suite and King Kamehameha Suite and Bora Bora Bungalows (DVC): 8 people

I wouldn't even want to stay in a room with 5. It will be pretty crowded. 6 isn't allowed. Room only has 2 queens and daybed. This is the non DVC rooms. DVC rooms are set up a bit differently with only one real bed, the rest are pull outs. But still only 5.

No, sorry, not allowed. You would need a second room, one of the suites, or a bungalow. Besides, he'd be sleeping on the floor or in the bathtub, there are only sleeping spaces for 5 in a standard Poly room.
