Can 6 adults and 3 kids fit comfortably in a cat 1 cabin?

We are looking to cruise in 2004. There would be 6 adults and 3 children. Their ages in 2004 would be 6, 3, and 2.

I was looking at the floor plan and thought that if you could close the doors to the media room then it would probably work. However, I wondered if Disney even allowed that many in the cabin and if they did if it would feel crowded.
 
No, the maximum is seven in the Category 1 and 2 staterooms, sorry.

Your best bet would be to go for a Cat. 3 (sleeps five) with an adjoining Cat. 4 (sleeps five). The Cat. 3 still gets the concierge service and as along as you are all one party those in the Cat. 4 should get the benefits as well.

If you want to go with something less expensive and don't care about the suite then two adjoining Cat. 4s would accommodate you.
