I am currently booked for a studio at SSR for 2 nites and then moving to a bay lake view studio for 4 nites over Thanksgiving weekend. The original plan was just myself and my DS who is 22. My mother has just decided to join us. I do not have enough points to switch to a 1 bedroom since I am planning a big 2 week event for 2010 which I will need a 2 bedroom. So here is my question..

For anyone who has ever stayed in a studio with 3 adults; is there enough room? My plan would be for DS to have the pull out and we will take the bed. I have stayed in studios in SSR so I think that will be fine but am I correct in understanding that the studios at BLT are a little smaller?

Well, whatever the case, it will be exciting that my mom can spend Thanksgiving with us at WDW (it will be her first visit in 28 years!) .:rotfl:

Anything can work, depending on your attitude. :)

Will you be a bit cramped, perhpas...but no more cramped than you would be in a regular hotel room. There is sleeping space for 4 so 3 will work just fine. The studios at BLT are a bit smaller, but they still have the queen bed and pull-out sofa so your plan will work. I also think that their design maximizes space better than the studios at other properties so you probably won't even notice the size difference.

BTW...wait until you've put 4 in a cabin on a ship! Then you'll realize that 3 in a studio is actually fairly roomy. ;)

I'm sure you'll have a great time!

OKW would work better because you actually have two queen beds versus one queen bed and one double sleeper sofa. And a bigger bathroom.

You know the bathroom sink and the kitchen sink at BLT is in the same room in the studio, correct?

Could you get a one bedroom at SSR or OKW instead for the same points?

Don't forget about luggage and where to put it. I've been having the same debate with myself. The points side of me says OUCH for the 1 BR, but the logic side of me says is there REALLY enough space for 3 adults in a BLT studio. I'd look at the floorplans. There doesn't seem to be much walking space around that queen sized bed.

How about a 1 BR at OKW? I'm not sure how the points compare to a BLT studio, though.

It has been done. The room is a bit tight, but it really is more of the group dynamic.

Best of luck to you!

We are doing it in 3 weeks! (Me, the DH and the 19yo DS). Its only for 3 nights.....any more than that, I'd be in a one bedroom!:thumbsup2

I think you'll be just fine. I like to go to Disney a few times a year and so I try to stay in a studio when possible to maximize my points. Me, my mom and dad have stayed in studios often, I give them the bed and I take the open up. The open up couch at SSR is quite comfortable and I would imagine the couch at BLT will be even better. I think the fact that your mom who hasn't been in 28 years will be able to join at Disney for the holiday is wonderful.

In years past - DW, DD29 and myself have shared a studio (with DD sleeping on couch); but the last couple of trips have been tough. Evidently DW and myself snore :confused3 and DD spends the entire week complaining about it. Plus DD tends to be very messy (which bugs me a lot). So we've decided from now on, when/if DD goes with us we'll be getting a minimum 1BR. We don't envision this happening too often as I've decided it's time for DD to start paying for her own vacations :rotfl2:.
