Can’t add 5 people to one bedroom at BWV and BRV

Hi everyone -

I’ve just booked one bedroom villas at BWV and BRV (through the DVC website) for upcoming stays and it is not letting me add our 5th guest (we are a family of 5). I know they do not include bedding for 5th, but we’ve stayed before with 5 guest (at least at BWV) and never had an issue registering 5 guests in the DVC booking. Am I missing something?

Don't think so. Sounds like a website issue. You will have to call MS and ask the CM to do it.

Another member recently wrote about similar (although wanting 9 in a 2BR). MS had to add their 9th.

Chat was able to add the 9th person to a BCV dedicated two bedroom for me last week.

It sounds like they may have changed it so that you have to call or chat to add the person. Maybe they were getting people who didn’t realize that not providing bedding meant no sheets and blankets but not that there is no actual place to sleep?

Too often we've seen website "issues" pop up that probably were just because the designer didn't know all the rules. For instance the Kidani/Jambo booking for AKV. Whichever you don't own at still shows up as a non-home resort but it seems they at least finally got the actual booking part straight. I do wonder how many AKV owners became convinced they have to wait for 7 months for the other building they aren't deeded to.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm just starting to explore DVC! Do DVC bookings allow different room capacities than non-DVC bookings? I know that, for the general public, the max capacity for a 1BV at BWV and BRV is 4 people (plus one person under the age of 3). If you are a DVC member, are you allowed to add additional people to your room above that capacity?

Some of the rooms allow you to add an extra adult, most have a hard limit though.

For BCV, BRV, and BWV which now allow 5 in the studio, they changed it for points stays to allow 5 in the 1 bedrooms, even though there is not sleeping spaces for them.

Most everything else is the same.

I’m still unable to add a 5th to BWV/BCV 1BR reservations. Not sure when/why this change happened but I guess I have to contact MS for now.

We were trying to do the same for BRV, let us know if it’s just a simple MS chat or call. I’m too lazy to do it!

I had to call about something else anyway so I had MS add our 5th person over the phone. There was no wait so it was fast. She said she’s already submitted a bug report about this due to others bringing it up previously, but she went ahead and submitted another one. She does recall we used to be able to do this online. I hope they fix it soon and it’s not an intentional change.
