campsite question

Does anyone know how *wide* the preferred campsites are, preferably in the 1300 and 1400 loop?? We have some friends that are going with us and need to buy a tent, but they are looking at these big monstrous 16' x 10 tents, so I need to know if that will fit or what is a nice roomy size that will fit?? Thanks guys...........

From what I understand each site is different and it's really the luck of the draw. I imagine (if there is room) if your site doesn't accommodate you they can move you to one that does.. assuming they have others open.

In my experience, it is not a question of how wide but how deep. There are probably very few sites wide enough to a tent beside the RV. However, in preferred (and full) sites there is a coquina (crushed shell and sand) pad behind the paved pad that is level and large enough to pitch a tent. How big of a tent will fit is going to depend on a few things: how big is the pad (most I've seen can accommodate a 10x12 or bigger), how long is your rv (is it going to need to overhang some of the pad to fit?), are there obstructions on the pad (i.e. is the grill poorly located?). I am thinking that unless you have a small rv and get a particularly large site 10x16 might be a bit much. I would suggest a 10x12 or smaller... but this is just based on my recollection and modest experience.

I'm sure some info might be outdated but, you might get some ideas
You might have to look around but, there is a place where people put down individual site information (size of dirt pad, pavement pad, trees ) to give future guest a reference to individual site area

Thanks guys, for all your help....I think I have them talked into a 10x12...so cross your fingers. Our camper is a 26ft. TT and we are pulling it with an F250 quad cab w/short bed, but worst comes to worst, we can leave the truck at the parking lot. So, I guess for now, I will be praying to the campsite gods...LOL....for mercy and peace!!!! Thanks again.....
