We have annual passes and will be at the fort for 2 weeks this June. Does anyone that has had annual passes ever remember getting any kind of discounts or codes for the camp ground? They seem ver limited as far as the fort goes. We wanted to purcahse the dining plan and they told us we could but then we loose the triple A discount so we end up paying like 130 a night for a site. Which is crazy. Just curious on what anyone has experienced in the past. Thanks!

We have previously used a AAA discount, and believe the AP discount is about the same..some 10% or so. I believe you can add the dining plan to an AP discount. At least you could with a resort reservation and I don't see why it would be any different with a site reservation. Good luck and enjoy your trip.:thumbsup2

Last year we got 20% on AAA during value season. This year no AAA discount for last week of April..

Last time for us, the discount for Annual Pass was about 10% and I got a better rate with AAA.... Try both and they can usually tell you which to use.

When we made our res for the end of Feb we were told all the AAA dis were used. I mentioned that I would check back since we were going to add tickets and dining later. CM said that if I had the AAA dis I would loose it when the pkg was put together. It is only for the site and they won't combine them.

Passholders CAN get a passholder discount and add the paid dining plan without purchasing any type of tickets.

You cannot add the paid dining plan to a AAA reservation without tickets because then it becomes a AAA package and only AAA offices can sell those. Disney Reservations does not handle AAA packages.

I would also imagine that if Disney is running some kind of room only discount for the general public that Passholders can add the paid dining plan without purchasing tickets and still get the general public discount.

As with all discounts, availability is limited, and often times the campground gets no allotment for discounts or a very small allotment.

We got an AP rate for 20 nights in Nov - saved us $200 on a Preferred site.

Last August, an AP rate was available but I already had an AAA rate that was better than the AP rate. IIRC, the AP discount was about $10 per night which was quite surprising as I have received a 30% - 40% AP discount during previous trips.

You definitely want to call just as soon after the promo is announced as you can. Signing up for Mousesavers newsletter can help get you notified quickly of new promotions/discounts.

If they did not have the AP rate available when you made the reservation, keep checking back. Normally it is about 10% for in season rates. Sometimes I have had off season rates subtantially lower, if you stayed several weeks.

You may also want to look into the Tables in Wonderland discount available to AP holders for a fee. It gives you a 20% discount at almost all sit down reataurants and a few quick serve (mostly at AK). Balance it out depending on how many people are in your group and this discount you receive, verses the dining plan. I have tried the dining plan before, but to get the most benefit of it, you need to make reservations at Chef Mickey's, Ohanas, Boma's, etc. and there are only so many large meals we can eat in a week. I recommend using the dining plan to my friends & family for stays of about a week.
