We are scheduled to be at Ft Wilderness for spring break 3/29-4/4. We may have to leave early so DD12 can go to the state geography bee at Jacksonville University on 4/3. We are tossing around different ideas and one of them is camping in Jax area. I know about Anastasia in St Augustine but they are booked for that week-end. Being such short notice I don't know what we will find. We would like to be on the south or east side of Jax so it would be more convenient for St. Augustine.

Another idea is to leave the camper in the over-flow lot and get a hotel. Has anyone left their camper while they went out of town? Thanks for any suggestions.

Google Hanna Park. It is right next to NAS Mayport and is very shady. The ocean is close by as well. It's about 15 minutes from my house and a pretty nice cg. The Wonderwood Xway runs right from the campground to the JU area. Should be a good match for you.

The St. Augustine KOA is fairly nice, close to the ocean and a couple of restaurants do site delivery at your site. We stayed there once overnight and will again if the opportunity presents its self.

Please check out North Beach Campground in St. Augustine. We have stayed here a couple of times and were very happy!

I was born and raised ing St. Augustine and like this area. The campground is parelled (sp?) by the beach and the river. Beautiful sunsets and sun rises.

check it out!

Any campground in the St. Augustine area will be at least 30 to 45 minutes from Jacksonville University. School break week will make it tough to find anything other than the koa type of campground. Good luck, and maybe there is something at Hannah.

I would stay at North Beach Campground. My second pick is Flamingo Lake on the northside of Jax..

I just checked North Beach Camp Resort it is $50 nt and Kathryn Abbey Hanna is $33.60 nt. Kind of pricey in my book for an overnight stop that you might not use everything. You could try Faver Dykes SP for $15.26 a night. There address is in St Augustine.

It has been a million years since I have been to Faver Dykes. As a kid we always had our family reunions there. I agree, try it out. It is only for overnight right? :)

I went ahead and made reservations at North Beach for 3 nights. If DD goes to state finals we would need to leave Disney on Thursday so we can be in Jax early Friday. We were going to check out of FW on Saturday so we would just take that extra day to see the sights in St Augustine. The camp ground looks really nice. I know it'll be about an hour drive to Jax but that is only for one day. I just really needed a plan B just in case. Thanks to all for the great advice.

Just looked up Faver-Dykes and it looks very nice and quite reasonable. A little further south but worth checking out. I can always change our reservations. Thanks!
