Hi I am new here to disboards...this is my 5th post! YAY ME!!!
However here is the situation....I am coming to DisneyWorld for my honeymoon this July, so excited can barely stand it, but next year on our anniversary my new hubby and I want to take my then 11 year old son with us when we go. We all love camping, and was wondering if tenting in July at the Campgrounds was crazy. I know how it rains for an hour and then stops amd is beautiful again, but wondered if there is enough covering there to protect the tent....or should I do something else all together?

First conrats on the wedding!!
The only thing I can think of is the humidity starts to hit around 90% in July along with heat index near 100. If your camp sight has plenty of tree coverage it might not be too much. ?
Me, I don't camp in Florida in the summer time. I'll stay in a cabin though.

Good luck.

I say definite NAY! It's so hot and sticky in the summer.. it would be miserable. But then again, I probably wouldn't do Disney at all in the summer, for the same reason. I live in Houston (weather very similar) and I become a hermit during the summer. But if you're a hot weather type it may work out fine for you.:)

that's pretty much what I thought.....I am thinking a resort then and camp maybe more in the fall or something...

We tent camped last June. I would do it again in a heart beat. We did have a small fan, and the kids are older (15,18) We tended to be up early and gone all day..

Welcome to the camp boards !
Congrats on your Honeymoon !:thumbsup2
And tent in July ,, I sure hope ya'll like the HEAT !

No way would I do it. I'd be willing to tent camp from mid-October through May, but not during the really hot, humid months. I'd happily stay in a camper or cabin at the Fort all year long, though! I think your decision to stay at a resort is the right one.
