Camper Listing -- Had to Share.....

goofyfamily - not to hijack your thread but we are also thinking about a class c. I like our travel trailer but 1000 miles one way to FW is a looooooooong way for 2 adults and 4 kids in car seats stuffed into a crew cab, and I don't feel comfortable pulling the 30ft TTw/ an expedition. (I wish they would bring back the excursion....darn tree huggers:mad:). Anyway, a class a would be nice but they aren't real family friendly yet, mostly built for couples who have the occasional young visitor, not 4 growing kids that really need dedicated sleeping areas. The class c w/ the bunk over the cab seems the way to go.
What manufacturers are you looking at? What models? I would appreciate anyone elses input as well. I am thinking fleetwood or gulfstream on a ford or international chassis w/ the bunks along the side just forward of the bedroom. They all seem to have similiar floorplans, almost like they were made at the same factory!

Hijacking is okay! It was a just for fun post.....

We had Winnebago/Itasca Horizon for 10 years and loved it..... We had our two girls and it was perfect for us. Along came my girls in their tween years wanted to bring friends......and then #3 came into our lives and as you said, our coach went from being awesome to being crowded.

We sold our Class A and we've been saving our pennies to pay cash for a Class C. DH isn't terribly partial to a manufacturer yet, but I will say that our Winnebago was awesome. We are hard on equipment.....me and the kids and Winnebago/Itasca definitely met that challenge. We're looking at a 27'+ with NO WINDOW over the cab. Too many horror stories on the leaks. He's partial to an Onan generator and a Ford chassis. We have looked at TT's and could get a nice one for 12-15K ish, but no generator. We like woods camping, so not being able to dry camp without hauling a generator isn't ideal for us. And, we're also looking for a new GC and couldn't tow anything if you're already towing a TT. We're usually towing 4-wheelers, dirt bikes or a GC and DH isn't interested in taking two cars.

In @ 17 years (OMG....really????), we'll get back to a Class A, but right now, a Class C is where we are.....

I ran across a GREAT DEAL on a 2007 Travel Trailer last week with a bunkhouse - light weight hauling - well too good to be true - It was a SCAM! Craigslist had it posted, the guy would not give us his phone #, Craigslist removed the listing around 1 hour after he contactd us by E-mail - so someone must have reported the issue prior to us contacting him. Also, when you tried to look up the email my virus alert popped up. i was so sad about the deal I thought it was - but MAD at the IDIOT that has nothing better to do with there life - just mess up peoples computers.....Thank goodness for Anti - Virus Software!

Yep! I've seen those too! They list them for @ $5K and then you find out the camper is in Quebec or somewhere crazy...... Idiots. I always flag the ones that are outrageous. If it looks too good to be true......it's a SCAM!

There was a listing on Craigslist in our area just a few weeks ago where someone was looking to buy a camper, but they wanted to try it out at FW 1st before they bought it.
We thought that was pretty funny.
