did you do land sea? if so did you fly . did you put your luggage tags on at home? or resort?
did you get right in line to board or stop at desk?
thanks

We did the land\sea in 2003 and did not put our luggage tags on until our land portion was finished and we were transported to the ship. We arrived around 2:00 PM if I remember correctly and since we did the land part first, we already had our KTTW card.

We did the 7 day Western in 2004 and also did not put our luggage tags on as we arrived the night before and stayed at the Hyatt MCO. The trick if you get on the first bus is when you get to the terminal. SInce we did not do a land portion, we still needed to stand in line to get our KTTW cards. While we were doing this, we send DS6 with our carry-ons to wait in the line you get in after you get your KTTW card (He was the 4th person). By the time we got all of our KTTW cards, we just joined DS6 in line and by this time there were about 100 to 120 people behind us. They then allowed Hadicapped people to enter first and then opened our line for boarding. I believe we actually were announced around 11:45 as we boarded the ship. Hope this answers your questions. - Mike

PS. The only time you should put your luggage tags on your suitcases is when you are ready for DCL to transport them - We did this the morning we were checking out of the HYatt MCO and they picked up our bags from there.

Okay, in the parks people freak about holding places in line ... do they not freak when waiting to board the ship? I was thinking of doing something similar - when we get in line to check in we ship DD (14) over to get in line for boarding.

Once we check in do we need to join her right away? Or can we join her right before the open up for boarding? And once the line gets long, how do you even get up front to join the rest of your group??????

ivanova - It seemed like most people were doing this and no one gave my DS6 a dirty look at all, nor when we joined him (just went right under the ropes). He just sat there playing his game boy and playing with the kids in front of him (they were also waiting for their parents). I just thought I would point this out so fellow Dis'ers were aware of it. I do not feel that this was "cutting" in line (merely holding a place for his family) and it seemed like a common practice there (there were a whole bunch of kids holding a place in line like this). Hope I don't get flamed but certainly nobody freaked about it at the terminal. - Mike

I think the passporter mentions this as well. besides, it is good to put the kids to work while the parents roam around :p
