Please remember to remove batteries and sd cards or you might get an unwanted surprise!

I thought I took my batteries out and my sd card card out from our last use during last winter and was real lucky that my sd card was still good to transfer pictures. I was wondering the other what was the weird sounds coming from the hallway.

I hope this helps others in the upcoming travel season.

:cake: NC Beast did say something about Best Buy tomorrow so my first solo WDW trip vacation can still get great photos.

I guess I should apologize for not being clear in hoping to help another poster in case they forget a thing like leaving batteries in a camera too long. I almost lost my husband this year so I am more nervous about losing pictures and memories. He is doing great now for someone living with heart issues.

Whaaaaa????

I didn’t follow any of that...
Remove the batteries if not going to use camera equipment or else risk damage. I was lucky that the sd card was not corrupted or damaged from the battery acid. Back up any photo storage as soon as possible for the just in case issues. Most of what I had on that sd card had been backed up on several sources and in cloud storage.

I have been using a special spray and cloth or remove the alkaline and almost ready to test if my camera can still work.

Sometimes it is a good idea to check your equipment on a regular basis. I just decided at the last minute for a quick trip.

Yikes!
Yes, I’ve had those nasty surprises from alkaline batteries. Usually cheap or no-name brands that came with the device. The Duracell or Energizer ones seem to do better and won’t leak, even after years.

I thought you were talking about having taken some... errr... naughty... photos or video with your camera and forgot about it. So, someone else found them and was playing them resulting in “weird sounds from the hallway.” Ha ha!

Glad to hear your husband is well. 👍
