Camera Problem

Today I turned my camera on it takes a few pictures and then the screen goes black with it still on. I can cut it off and the lense goes in. What is wrong?

The screen on my camera shuts off after a certain amount of inactivity, I just press the button and the screen comes back up. This is not the shut down mode, the shut down comes after the screen goes dark.

It could need fresh batteries.

I put new batteries in it. I know what you are talking about pixiewings. It kinda acts like that but its not. For instance I was using it then all of a sudden black.

Were you by any chance somewhere cold? Or was the camera cold?
