Ok....so the time is here finally!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo: It's time to buy my new K100D camera and accessories and I have found the best deal for it on beachcamera. Now my question is where to go for memory cards?? :confused3 I read on here that the best thing to do is get a couple Hi Speed cards around the 4GB or 5GB range. One suggestion was the PQI 150x high speed cards. But where is the best place to buy these or is there a better card out there?? Also, I am looking at buying a Slingshot 100AW case for my stuff, but is this too big sometimes? Do you recommend a small case just for the camera and lens for when you're going around on a cruise ship in close quarters?? Thanks for all input!!! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!! :goodvibes :cool1: :rotfl: :goodvibes  :yay:

Congrats on the new camea. I am sure you are going to love it. I am very happy with mine. For memory cards, I think Newegg, Buy.com, and Amazon are good places. I got free shipping on a Kingston card from Amazon last week. I personally will never buy a PQI card again. I have had no problems with Kingston, SanDisk, or Lexar. I have had problems with Corsair and PQI. The PQI completely died after a few weeks.

The bag will not be too big if you plan on having other lenses. If it is just the camera and the one lens, it might seem too big.

My PQI was dead on arrival, but the replacement is working fine. There are enough that you can easily skip them, though.

I would keep an eye out for a good deal - it seems like there aren't quite as many as there used to be, but there are still a few deals here and there. Amazon and buy.com have been having some good deals on Kingston cards lately, but usually not high-speed ones.

Congratulations on the new camera! I might be picking up a K100D myself soon... I still plan to upgrade to a higher model maybe later this year, but thanks to the miracle of minimal depreciation and rebate pricing, I might be able to actually save money buying it plus a flash, rather than buying the flash alone... I hope to, in order to get stabilization and a better autofocus system.
