yep, Covid came calling. We flew home yesterday & was tested today >:(

I've had all 3 shots but, did not wear a mask. Actually, have been to Disney 2x & Universal 2x since Covid...I fly every time. This is the 1st time to fly without a mask but, most of the park visits were maskless.

It is what it is.....just got unlucky, this time. I had tested negative on Sunday before flying on Monday of last week......then flew home yesterday. I wasn't feeling great but, just thought it was due to being worn out.

Stay safe out there!!!

Hope it`s a mild version and hopefully you`ll be over it before you know it......

We wore masks at Disney on our trip a couple weeks ago and one of my kids still picked it up. It took a full week to spread through our whole family so we're still quarantined although feeling better now. I'm just glad to have gotten it AFTER the vacation.

OMG, same here. The worst is being sick on a big vacation.

I noticed alot more people wearing masks at the airport last weekend than the previous week.

We came home with it a few weeks ago. We did wear masks on the planes, airport, monorail, crowded places, but we also ate in restaurants and weren’t as careful in ride lines. Hope your cases are as mild as ours were, our DD and her DH got it recently (not from us we had been staying away from them) and their cases are somewhat worse than ours. Even the baby is coughing ☹️

I got it for the first time a little over 2 weeks ago—I tested positive 2 days after Disney. We were in Miami for the second part of our vacay so cut it short and drove home. We wore KN95s in all indoor areas and did not eat inside and drove and still got it :( DH tested positive 3 days after me. DD9 never tested positive (and we did 5 antigen tests on her over 2 weeks). Luckily we had head cold signs for about 3 days—it could have been worse for sure. DH received monoclonal antibodies due to having congenital heart disease.

Ditto. But knew it was a real possibility. after 2 years I want to make memories so it is what it is. I’m just glad I had my shots so best chance to have minimal issues. I’d say less than 0.1% are masking there so really it’s gonna happen. Thankfully only mild cold symptoms for me.

oh no...hate when a baby is sick......they just don't understand & look so sad
I'm not too bad, so far. My coughing is the worse. They actually took x-rays to make sure I didn't have pneumonia because I was wheezing. No fever & I can taste/smell.

Hate to hear anyone gets it but, thanks for telling me you did all that. I've been beating myself up for not taking it more seriously. I had 14 yr old DGD & her best friend with me......so hoping they don't get it.
but, yes, mine seems like a bad cold......my coughing is bad.

Could you have contracted it before arriving in Disney possibly?

It's always going to be out there. My daughter got it at Prom (second time for her). Seems like almost half the kids that went ended up with it. Sadly, there was some one on the prom committee who was pretty sure she had it and ignored it.

So you can get it anywhere.

Not likely since we were there for 6 days before I tested positive and we drove down and I also didn’t go anywhere for the 3 days before we left (I work from home). My husband and daughter tested negative the day I tested positive, so I was the index case for our house. This was our 5th post covid trip there and first time we got sick, so it was a good run while it lasted.

A friend of ours went to Disney last week. Drove home this past Saturday and tested positive Monday morning.

I also have two friends who went last week and drove home on Saturday. She tested positive on Sunday, and her husband tested positive on Monday. My husband does business with several clients in the Orlando area and two of his trips have been cancelled due to cases in the offices. I was going to tag along and do Disney solo 😢. (Maybe the postponement is a good thing.)

First off, it’s good to hear that most who checked in here are doing relatively well!

COVID incubation period can last up to 14 days. Also, testing can result in samples that don’t contain enough of the virus to initially show up positive

Mango - even if you have an exposure app on your phone, it’s difficult to pinpoint the specific exposure point.

You possibly could have been exposed before trip. Even on the way down if you stopped to use restroom. On the other hand, you very well may have acquired it somewhere in Orlando. Either way, it stinks.

even at this stage of things, people do need to decide what their comfort level is as to travel and how they conduct themselves in their normal lives.:wizard:

Add us to the pile. We were there June 12-15 staying at the RPR. My brother started with a runny nose on the 15th on our drive back and tested positive the next day. My husband just tested positive on Friday (2 days after we got home). I don’t think my brother left the house for 2 weeks before our trip so we’re quite sure he got it on the trip. There’s just a lot of Covid out there right now so if you’re doing anything in public in Florida your odds are high you’ll catch it. Neither of them has had it before.

Funnily enough my son, daughter, and I are all still negative. My son had Covid in April and my daughter and I had it in January. Hopefully the antibodies keep working!
