Camcorder

Ok, this question might not belong here but you guys have been stellar about answering everything else I toss at you so here goes...
I'm planning on taking our camcorder on vacation.
It's a Sharp VL-E685 viewcam.
I'm looking for an A/V cable for it and I'm wondering if any AV cable will do to hook it to the back of the TV so I can transfer to VHS tapes for the family.
Does anyone know?

Sorry, I tried to get the specs for the Sharp vle-685 but couldn't find them anywhere.

There are differences in what type of cable the camcorder will accept, and even some TVs. Most newer TVs have standard RCA AV jacks. They will probably be red, white, and yellow at the TV end. The end that pilugs into the camcorder is the end that will be different.

If you take the camcorder with you to a Circuit City or Best Buy they will be able to tell you which one to buy.

Agree with above post. I also wanted to add that most camcorders now come with that AV cord in the box. Are you sure you don't have one? If not, call Sharp directly or go straight to Circuit City/Best Buy with it - ther are about 5 or 6 different types for insertion into the camera. The other side should have a red jack and yellow jack - universal now for all BUT you may want to double check to see if your hotel TV has these AV components on their TV. That is, if you plan on looking while on vacation. I am sure you have them at home.

The camcorder is about 5 years old and we've moved about 5 times since I got the thing so over the years parts have gone missing. The AV cable is one of them.
I'm going to take it to Best Buy and see if they can't help me.
