Cam & Howard's Vow Renewal PJ -1/12/09 - WP&WH--p.98: TRIP REPORT BEGINS

Cam,

Just want you to know that I would be more than willing to wear a diamond ring for you during the ceremony. It would be difficult but in the name of friendship I could make the sacrifice.

;)

Kristen

Thank you so much, Kristen!! You are so sweet and generous! I'll have to add a skein of yarn to my packing list, though, so we can wrap the back and it won't fall off your long, thin fingers! ;)

I should have mentioned that I got so many things done last night for the welcome bags/boxes. It was SOOOO much fun. Howard was studying in the office, so I sat in there working on things and getting his input on everything and I think he had almost as much fun as I did. I get to cross the following things off my to-do list:

1. labels for bear necessities bag (I used Pooh, though, and Andrew thinks I should have used Baloo, so there is a bit of dilemma there to be addressed. I started a thread looking for advice on this.)

2. labels for the gum packs (I used a cute eeyore clipart, since he is Jenn's favorite, and he seemed perfect for the "don't be sad" line. :) ) Andrew put the labels on the gum for me.

3. tags for the candle/match chinese food takeaway boxes -- I figured a way to use the mickey punch as the hole that the tag hangs from, but had to untie the cord on the chinese take-out container to hang the tag from that little bit of cord and then put the cord back through and re-tie. It was almost therapeutic. The clipart for the tags is lumiere. These took a lot of time to make, so having them all done is fun! I cut the index cards for the tag using my new paper cutter; mickey-hole punched the tags; did the greeting for the tag on labels and separate labels with lumiere; cut the labels & put them on the tags; untied the cord handle to attach the tag; put tissue paper, votive & matchbook in the boxes, and closed them up. They look so pretty all packed and ready to go to Orlando (hopefully into the Owner's Locker, if I get down there for the Minnie 15k).

4. Sorted everything for the bear necessities bags, so that they'll be ready to pack when the sewing kits arrive (the first ones were missing the graphic).

Whew!! What a great way to spend a Friday night after a really stressful work week. :cloud9: Jenn & I were supposed to go to David's to look at styles/colors for her dress last night, but I was at work too late and exhausted. So, she got to spend one of the last nights of her spring break with her brother and then with some friends and then with her furbaby, and I got all this done. :thumbsup2

Hey Cam,

Wow! I am so impressed with the progress you are making. Way to go girl! And I am so happy that you are enjoying all of it - now that is an inspiration. And look at your ticker just ticking away - :yay:

:goodvibes

Thank you so much, Lisella! I am hoping that come May 12 (just 5 weeks away!), we'll be busy creating the save the dates, etc. after the contract is signed. So, I thought it would be fun to do all this ahead of time. :goodvibes I didn't want to have to drop anything off my to-do list because of a time crunch later, and a lot of these projects can now go into storage in Orlando, so it is all good! :cutie:

Hi Cam!

Sounds like things are shaping up quite well. I love following along. Have decided on flowers for Jenn? What does her dress look like? Did you pick it out yet?

You'll have to tell us what the different bags are for. They sound like such fun!!

Can't wait to read the next installment.

Thank you, Martha! Jenn and I went to David's today and she found 3 styles that looked really nice on her. So we are very reassured that when it is time for her to order her dress, she'll find something we love. She's so sweet. One dress was pretty dazzling and she said "No,Mom, it's your special day and I don't want to outshine the bride." She was so adorable and sweet when she said it. She really didn't want this really pretty dress with beading and sequining because a Maid of Honor's dress should be a little "less". Gosh, I love my daughter! :cloud9:

We found the last couple of items that I wanted for the guest bags, so I should be able to finalize those this week and pack them.

My next major project is our first newsletter with save the date information to supplement what Disney will send. I also have compiled the addresses to hand over to DFTW. :woohoo: 1 month and 5 days!

Have you seen the size of my knuckles?? No long thin fingers for me! :rotfl:

I'm glad to hear you've found some dresses for Jenn. You are really getting things done. I am sooo impressed!! :woohoo:

Kristen

Jenn is such a sweetheart!! Of course you raised her well...and she takes after her parents! Can't wait to see the choice she makes.

I worked on our first newsletter last night. It is impossible to finalize anything until the contracts are signed. It is also a bit puzzling to figure out what information people need at this early stage. Here are the pieces of information I included and why:
Location of VR-related events:
I told people that the dessert party and the vow renewal will be at the Grand Floridian. I will clarify that for Sunday night, people can take a resort bus to any park and then monorail to GF for the dessert party. I also want people to know the time (up in the air until the fireworks schedule is available) so that no one makes a Sunday dinner ADR in July that conflicts with the dessert party.

Blocked rooms (locations & rates):
Many of our guests are DVC but may want to use our room block for the high-point Friday and Saturday nights, so I want them to know about the rates. I've also advised that we are providing transportation to the VR only from our blocked resorts

Our itinerary:I am hoping that if people know we will be in Orlando on Thursday and partying at Pleasure Island, we may have more company. :grouphug: I also thought it was important to make clear that we will be tied up with the 5k, half-marathon and marathon at various times over the weekend. I also wanted them to know what time the reception is over on Monday in case anyone needs to book a flight home that evening.

I reminded people they'll have the opportunity to buy reduced rate park tickets later and that we will provide that information for them as soon as it is available.

Okay, so what else?

Hey Cam,

Missed you this am. Your newsletter sounds like it will be awesome. I so wish we had others joining us for our vow renewal. Hope to see you tomorrow at the y. have a great day.

Thanks, Patty! Looking forward to seeing you tomorrow, though I'll be scrambling out of the gym to shower and dress for an early morning hearing. However, if I DON'T work out, no one will be able to deal with my edginess. ;)

Once I get more details on the newsletters ironed out, I am going to post them here and look for some input. I apologize in advance for the kazillion questions I'll have. :rotfl2:

Not much else new. It hit me this morning at a weight watchers meeting that I have to go get measured for my gown in about 6 weeks. I really need to get myself in gear on this whole "buff bride" effort. :lmao:

After looking at so many different style magazines and websites, I've decided I really love a hairstyle Liz posted in her journal. What do you all think of this style?

I don't have that much hair, though I am growing it out. But this is exactly the soft, romantic look I am going for, and I think it will soften my round face, and by having some height on top with the tiara there, will elongate my face a bit.
What do you all think?

Well I think that is a simply gorgeous hairstyle!...I might even have to use it myself! :rotfl: But really, I think you will look lovely with your hair styled like that! :bride: Are you doing a hair trial before the wedding?

Yes, Liz, my dear (and thank you so MUCH for finding and posting that style! )! I am doing a weekend in Disney with my friend in September and I've scheduled a hair and makeup trial with Ana from Beaute Speciale (sp?) for that weekend. I am really excited to have the opportunity to do it and I was so lucky she was available for that date. :yay:

Oh Cam, that is just absolutely gorgeous! You have to do that!!!
Woohoo!!!! I'm so glad that you used pooh for your "bear necessities" I can't believe how much you have done. That's so awesome

I think that hair style is beautiful and definitely romantic! I am sure it will look awesome on you!

Thank you so much, ladies!

So, I have to share my DH's latest romantic blow-me-away :faint: gesture! Thanks to Lynne, I took a look at the customizedgirl website for personalized tee shirts. When I decided I wanted to order one, I told Howard about the website. Next thing I know, he's designed a shirt that he wants and it was ordered last night. Here is what he put on it:
FRONT:
The
Honeymoon
Never
Ended

BACK:
Cam's Prince
Marrying her once
was not enough.
12-22-84 and 1-12-09

He literally brought me to tears when he came up with the text. Isn't he the absolute best? :lovestruc He spoils me rotten with his endless devotion.

The hairstyle is beautiful and romantic. Really pretty! As for your husband........wow! He is the absolute best! How sweet to come up with those words and want to order a t-shirt.

Awwwwww Cam, your DH is the absolute SWEETEST! :lovestruc You are so very lucky to be with someone who loves you so much and goes out of his way to show it after many happy years of marriage!
