Calypso Waterpark - Ottawa, ON?

Just read about a brand new waterpark near Ottawa, ON opening June 7, 2010.
Does anyone know if any nearby hotels are offering packages to it this summer? It looks like a really fun place to spend a weekend.

I live in Ottawa and have not heard of any special deals yet. I have heard that there apparently is a camp ground close by associated with the water park. Downtown Ottawa has lots of nice hotels and they always have deals in the summertime. I believe it will be about a 30 minute drive to the park from downtown Ottawa.
If I see any upcoming deals I will post them.

Thanks, please post on this thread if you hear of anything. I can't believe that this waterpark is costing $45 Million and they don't offer packages with any Ottawa hotels. I called the waterpark office and was told "I think I have a list around here somewhere. Wait, I think it was Novotel but that didn't work out so maybe it is the Courtyard Marriott that we are working with to set up a package."

btw, I called the Courtyard Marriott and was told that they " had tried to work out a package with the waterpark but that their proposal was not accepted".

So yes, if you hear of anything, PLEASE let me know.

Great to know. We are planning to go to Ottawa this summer then back to Algonquin, so I would be interested in finding out about the campground!

I suspect that part of the problem is that there are no hotels actually near the water park. Its closer to residential areas. There is a Days Inn on Hunt Club Road that would be closer than being downtown and there are a few small motels on Prince of Wales Drive that would be closer as well. I live about 10min (if that) from the new park and I work downtown. As long as its not rush hour, I can get to work and back in about 40min so that would be about your timeframe if you book a downtown hotel.

It looks like a great park! We will definitely plan to go this summer! The price is good too!
