Any recent stays here? I got a great rate for a two bedroom villa, but can't find info on any recent stays. Reviews on trip advisor are mainly for Amerisuites or County inns and suites. Woul appreciate any new reviews.

Looks a nice place :goodvibes but haven't seen any reviews lately on it. The website shows that there is still some construction going on at the owners pool area.

The only other report coming up on 'google' was back in 2005 about the staff the employ. See http://www.ripoffreport.com/reports/0/167/ripoff0167630.htm but it is a few years ago now.

Hopefully someone will be able to give you further, and more recent, info :)

Please do not stay at this resort. My family stayed here in 2006 and it was terrible. The room was FILTHY! The hotel room next to me and was broken into one night, and we woke up to the sheriff yelling at the robber to get down on the ground. I could go on and on. Please listen and do not stay at this resort. It nearly ruined my disney vacation!

Maybe things haven't changed in the last 2 years

Perhaps look for something else - I'm sure you will find a good deal somewhere :)

We're here now. Let's just say I wish I was back on property. But it was free, so I can't complain too much (I guess).

heatherpage- is there anything really wrong with these villa's or do you just miss being on property? If there is something wrong, I'd like to here what you have to say. Any input would be appreciated.

Well, we are right by the highway and I mean right by it (the bypass wall basically connects to the back parking lot). We have a lovely view of the bypass wall, highway a not to great looking wooden fence, some trees and a dumpster below, so needless to say, haven't been out on the screened balcony much. If we look far, far out in the distance, we can see the WDW Dolphin jutting up from the skyline. (But no view of any fireworks that I've been able to see). The new owners pool which they touted as going to be open by June 1st is sitting there empty. It is finished I believe and with water, but supposedly they are waiting on an inspector to come by to issue the certificate of operation, so we've been using the other pool (which is okay I guess, but again, definately not Disney). Construction is going on next door which noise wise hasn't been a bother, but it is an eyesore. The first day we were checking in my dad was inside while I stood outside with my son and one of the timeshare reps there (I believe - he was dressed in a suit and I had seen him earlier in the sales center) asked me if I had an extra cigarette (wth?) I guess I could understand maybe if I had been standing there smoking but I kind of snottily informed him that I didn't smoke and then felt like saying - why are you asking a customer for a smoke - real professional! My son's feet (and ours) are black from it needing a good mopping in here (they had been called a couple of times to come re-mop but we've never seen them). Also, two of our burners on the stove needs the metal rings for the burners to stay in and they were supposed to bring them, again never heard from them luckily, we've not been cooking much. The inside of the condo is nice enough, we got a two bedroom lockoff and it is roomy. The walls are pretty thin, could hear the person in the unit next door to our bedroom snoring last night through the walls. Like I said we didn't have to pay for this as my parents traded their timeshare for this exchange, but if you look at the website photos and then pull up in your car, you're kind of saying to yourself, where is the place I saw photos of etc. I haven't seen any bugs inside, so that's always a good thing. The pool is pretty small and gets easily crowded so hopefully when the new nice pool opens up that will help but overall, if I had to stay offsite again (which hopefully I won't - not that I'm ungrateful about getting a free stay here, I really do appreciate it (thanks mom and dad :) ) but I would choose somewhere else over Calypso Cay. If I had to rate it on a star level, I guess I would give it 2 1/2 to 3 stars out of 5. Hope this helps some!

heatherpage- thanks for your reply. We are going in August, hopefully their new pool will be open by then. We are probably not going to spend much time in the room, but at least I know what I'm in for. I got a great rate for a 2 bedroom villa thu GovArm and thought I should give them a try. Hopefully you will enjoy the rest of your stay.
