We currently have a reservation for Oct and are discussing asking for special cleaning for the two rooms we have requested be connected. My DD3 has multiple food allergies (including corn which is in almost all sunscreens) and wanted to make sure the room has a bit of extra attention and that the bedding in completely changed out. Is this request out of line?? Should we call regular reservations or special services (I found their number on the disney website)? What kinds of experiences have others had with this?

Other people have done that in the past. Hopefully, one of them will respond.
I don't think they worked thru Special Reservations, but it would not hurt to call that number and ask what they suggest (if they don't somehow note it on your reservation themselves).
I would probably call the resort directly a few days before you arrive to make sure that they know your requests. Keep in mind that when you call the resort number, you don't usually get the actual front desk of the resort. You are usually getting a call station/switchboard that answers calls for the different resorts. So, even though they might answer "PO-Riverside" or where ever you are staying, chances are that's not where they actually are located.

Just had this request made for my daughter. We are going to CSR May 31 and have peanut, nut, egg, pumpkin (yeah I know, weird) allergies and asthma. Called CRO and had special request made to my room reservation for a "special cleaning" and non-smoking room. Unfortunately, wont know until I get there if it's really done. Hope someone will let us both know if it's possible. Plan on bringing cleaning wipes for all surfaces of room just in case.

I would suggest both having it noted on the reservations and also contacting special reservations. You can never be to safe. Best of luck.
