I am hoping to go down Jan. 2-10, but am waiting for codes to come out.

We will probably split our stay between onsite and offsite in a condo cuz my kids are l8 and 21 and we need SPACE, LOL.

What is everyone doing for their Jan vacation and what are your dates?

Herc:) :)

I would really like to go down January 17-22, but I really doubt we'll be able to (if we do, I'll book at the end of December). It would have to depend on many things, especially a great rate on the hotel. I'm not even sure where we'd stay. :)

Hoping to go down around Jan 15-20 for oldest DS's 16th birthday. We're planning a mother-son trip so he can can eat at all of the places he loves but his younger siblings balk at:cool: He's always been an adventurous eater while they prefer burgers and chicken strips.

Where we'll stay pretty much depends on the rate we can get and airfare.

hercamore, you should consider renting points at a DVC resorts. You can get a 1BR villa for a decent price and have tons of space.

We'll be there 1/9 through 1/15 at the Beach Club Villas. My DH is running in the marathon again this year on the 12th. My DSIL will be joining us on her first trip to WDW!

;) We are planning on going down a couple days early before our cruise. I am looking to book the WL for Jan 30 for 1 or 2 nights. I called Disney today and they said that Disney Club rates come out in September. I may hold one on that and then look for discount codes as it gets closer. So far I have found none for Jan yet. It is value season and so we should fine some good deals.

We're going to be there for 8 days starting January 18th. I'm not sure where we're staying yet. We had originally planned for Animal Kingdom Lodge but due to some overwhelming medical bills, will have to "settle" for a moderate. :D

We stayed at CBR earlier this year and loved it and I'll be staying at POFQ next month so it's really just up in the air right now.

DP Janner and I are going January 2-17. We'll spend three nights at ASMu, hoping to get a soft opening at Pop Century. Then five nights at our home resort, BWV one-bedroom, two nights in Saint Augustine at Casa Monica, then back to OKW for five nights--our first ever stay there.
I agree you should look into renting points. OKW reportedly has the largest one-bedrooms. You can see pictures elsewhere on Pete's board.
We made our non-point ressies through Dreams Unlimited, and they will keep track of discount codes and automatically switch us to a lower rate whenever one comes out. They check all rates--AAA, annual passholder, and DC etc.
Hope you have a great time, fellow January traveler.
Maddy

We are thinking about going possibly Jan1-7 and staying at ASMu, but we are waiting for regular or AP codes/discounts to come out. Being a poor college student, I can't afford regular rates for rooms, so I anxioulsly await discount code time! I hope the codes come out soon! I am in desperate need for another disney trip!:smooth:

We are hoping to go January 17-25. Just waiting on the discounts for resorts to be released. If we go, we will definitely stay at the Poly.

We'll be there the last week of January and we are staying at the Swan!

January 1/10 - 1/18 at the ASMo. :bounce:
Loved the ASMo and looking forward to a repeat visit! :)
This year we are arriving a day earlier so DH doesn't run himself in the ground the day before the marathon, like he did last time. He was in bad shape last January, but finished.:D

We'll be there January 25th to Feb 1st!!! Staying at the WL. Me, DH, DD 5, & DD 2 1/2. We went in January last year too, but last year we split our stay between CR & WL ......this year it is WL all the way! It felt like home to us!

Wow,

Lots of us going down in January!

Awesome, and let's hhpe the new codes are for Jan/feb. too!

Herc.

We'll be there January 10-18. Have reservations for the 10-13 at Carribbean Beach for $169/night:eek: ...rack rate...I made them just to have a spot in case the unthinkable happened and there wasn't one room available. I've been carefully watching for the discount codes to come out though, because I'd love to try for a deluxe for a good rate. At the very least, I want to get a moderate for a better rate than what I have now!!!!!!!!

From the 13-18, we'll be at the Beach Club Villas, using our DVC points!

First week of January, we will be staying at the Dolphin.
Only $129 a night for teachers/nurses/Government employees!
We had planned on the ASsport, but switched money from our souvenier budget to upgrade our accomodations. I heard from others that it will be worth it.

Our family's first time to WDW (well Mom has been twice -- 26 years and 15 years ago)
Dec. 30, 31 -- somewhere in Florida
Jan. 1 to 7 tent camping at Ft. Wilderness
Jan 8, 9 relaxing at HIFS
Jan 10 LONG drive home (2 1/2 days)

Can't wait. But then I'm not doing the driving. I am doing the researching & the saving (??) though!

I am planning a trip over the MLK holiday period. Did the same thing last year. Probably Jan 17/18 for about 10 days. I desperately want to try the YC but I think I'll probably split between it and a moderate (CSR most likely). I'm just getting ready to call CRO for ressies. I figure I'll book them at rack and pay the deposit. That way when the codes come out I can apply them and already have a credit towards more than one night's deposit. It's like finding money (well, almost, LOL). ;)

We are going to be there from 1/24-2/03..the first four nights at the HRH then on to Disney, we still have not decided on where. Can someone please tell me when would be the best time for us to book it. I keep on hearing so much about those darn codes and want to try and use them to save some $$. Can you use the codes when you are booking a package we are going with the deluxe or resort magic plan (still not sure which..and the package will be called silver something and gold something next year) We really like to have some if not all of our meals included. Thanks to everyone for all the helpful advice.

From someone that is just beginning to understand.
