Calling in or Calling Out?

What do you say? I've always said calling in, but when I moved back down to S. FL last year, I noticed a lot of people here say 'calling out.'

I figured it out after I read down the threads on the page...DEFINITELY "call in"...never, ever heard of the phrase "call out"

Sorry, I guess it was clear to me! But then I only worked for eleven hours today. Mud is clear right now!

Calling in or out to work when you can't be in (do you call in sick or call out sick?)

I say call in......but BIL says call out. His reason? He works outside all the time (electrical work). He said in this weather, he'd love to be called "in".

Okay, now I get it. I can't to either, because I don't get sick days and no one else can do my job. I was informed that I am not around children all day, so I shouldn't get sick. My office is attached to our Catholic School. The teachers get 7 days of sick days, 2 personal day. Plus nice Christmas and Easter Breaks. I love my job when I feel like crap and I am answering their door, their phone because they are not there. My boss even puts a sign on their door directing people to mine. The school secretary is on the same plan as the teachers. Her sister is the principal of the school and they set it up that way. Grrrr. Need a new job now!

This reminded me of my mother in law. She says "planned overs" instead of leftovers. I always found that odd.
