I've been reading every single post on here and I have a really great understanding of how DVC works. I LOVE it!
So i'm going to call today to get some pricing and see if there are any new incentives.
What kind of questions should I ask. Is there something you never thought to ask before buying?
I really like the idea of buying BLT...but SSR is still our favorite and probably more affordable as a home resort. Is 50 extra points at BLT enough to go every 3 years, if we get a one bedroom? :confused3 or i've read on some other post you can combine all your points, so can I use my SSR points to stay at BLT?

Thanks, this board is so great! Its helped me explain things to my husband so easily and he is likin' the idea of DVC!! :cool1:

Your SSR points only give you the 11 month advantage at SSR, to book BLT with SSR points you would have to wait for the 7 month window.

You can use your SSR points to stay at BLT, if the reservation is made 7 or less months in advance. I would recommend checking out the resort reservation threads to see if what you want is available.

Rooms tend to book rather quickly in December, but if you're not looking at December they book slower (except THV).

If you're considering purchasing points at SSR take a really good look at SSR resales because you may find the savings worthwhile over incentives being offered by purchasing directly through Disney.

To best answer your questions about purchasing a 50 pt add-on at BLT, it's best to get better idea of what you'd need by using BLT 2010 points chart (click under Timeshare Store banner, upper right on this page to find points charts for all DVCs); calculate if 50 BLT pts will cover things with banking or with banking&borrowing for the accommodations you want & number of days you want during the season(s) you'd want to book at BLT; you may find to book BLT every 2nd or 3rd year that you'll need to purchase a few more points than 50.

You can use your BLT points to book at BLT up to as many nights as those BLT points will cover 8 - 11 months before your check-in date and then at 7 months you can try to book additional nights at BLT using your SSR points.

Just to give you an idea, on my SSR contract I'm paying around $70 pp, even with the incentives offered now SSR still costs over $90 pp direct. That being said AKV is now closer to a push (resale/direct) after you factor in any closing costs, and BLT is still not really hitting the resale market........yet.

Good luck,

Chris
