Calling Any Resort Cm's:Gift Basket at Resort, how do I make sure my friends get it!

HI All! We leave in three days for a wonderful trip to Disney!:cool1:

I decided last minute to buy a gift basket for our friends who are going on their first trip to Disney! They are staying at the BWV and we are staying at GF so we won't be together while checking in. Well I ordered the basket from Peggy (peggysweetsandmore.com) and she was kind enough to do it last minute and to deliver on Saturday to ensure that the basket is there before we all arrive on Sunday. Thanks Peggy!

Anyways, I assume that when they arrive around 1:30pm that their room won't be ready, but some of the things in the basket I want them to have before they head off to the MK park to a Crystal Palace dinner (like the autograph book and Mickey hats for this kids).

SO does anyone have a suggestion on how I should ensure that she get the basket that will be there at Check-in without ruining the surprise. I was thinking I could just tell her to ask if there is any package, but then that kinda ruins the suprise. Do you think I could call the front desk and tell them their on their way to check in once they get on the Magical Express bus? Any Ideas how I can pull this off without saying to my friend "Make sure you get the gift basket I sent you before you leave for the parks".

That is so nice of you. :goodvibes Well, I don't have any creative ideas, but I do have some kind of bad experiences with the basket delivery so it sure would be a good idea for you to somehow make sure that they DO/did get it.

Peggy is great and Betsy was too because on both occasions when I ordered from them they dropped the baskets off for it only to be misplaced at the resorts by the resorts. No fault of theirs & they were both verykind and went out of their ways to help find it, too. ON another occasion my friend ordered me a surprise from the Disney florist for my bday while we were at YC and they just couldn't find us.:confused3 (everything under my name, too!) She would have never known it was not delivered if she didn't do a follow up call just to check. It sat around for days before I recieved it. :rolleyes1

So, just from experience.....

Have a wonderful time on your trip!! Can't wait to hear all about it.

When we had Betsy do our baskets she offered to have the front desk hold it for checkin vs them bringing it to our room after check in. We chose the later as we were in no rush but I wonder when Peggy deliveries it if she could have a tag on it stating "surprise at check in" or tell the front desk. I dunno. That wouldn't guarantee anything because the resort may not do it for whatever reason - check in time is real busy & it gets overlooked. Maybe see if Peggy could do that and then call your friends' resort as a reminder. I hope it works out ok - very nice thing for you to do!

Well No, we won't be on that trip because our Cruise is November 2008! But we are leaving in three days to go to Disney! Looks like we are leaving on the same day! I hope you have a magical trip and cruise. Be sure to come back and give a Cruise report! I will be back on the boards after our trip to start planning for the Cruise next year and I would love to hear what you thought of traveling this time of year!
 
Oh, just remembered the misplaced basket thing happened to me 3 times - every time, haha:confused: .....anyway the line the resorts always give is "If there was something here waiting for you it would be noted in your reservation".....So somehow the basket DEFINITELY needs to get noted in the ressie by a CM. It seems each time I received a delivery it was not noted in my ressie.:guilty:

Maybe you could just make absolutely sure the delivery gets noted on their ressie. That seems to be the key because each time I KNEW I had an item waiting for me, that was the line they gave me ..."If there was something here for you it would be noted on your reservation.":rolleyes1

This misplaced delivery has happened to me at the Swan and the YC twice so I just want you to know that you have to follow up on it just to make sure.:flower3: :flower3: It may just be my bad luck that it's happened every time.:confused3 :rotfl: Everybody else in WDW probably gets their deliveries just fine!! They turned up every time - it did work out.:thumbsup2
