Every once in a while I get the photo albums or video and reminence of my early stays at the Wilderness Lodge, I have noticed some changes over the years and now I wonder why they happened. Maybe some WL lovers can answer them for me.
1) They used to have a smokey smell in the hallways (when the WL first opened up) but then it ceased after our first visit.
2) The main fireplace had a real wood burning fire at one time but now
it is a gas fireplace.
3) On some of our early Christmas vacations (94/96), they always had a large bar set up at the rear of the lobby where they would sell drinks during the evening. That no longer happens
4) On my home videos during the Christmas season they had a huge Gingerbread Village display but have never had one since
5) At the beach there was never a retaining wall at the waters edge but I think that I remember seeing one last December
I am sure that there have been many mor changes that other people have noticed but these are the ones that stick out in my mind
