Hi gals,
When I contacted BondiBand a couple of weeks ago, this was the response I got back

Hi!! You can have the discount for all the bands:) People will need to email me directly because if they order online there is no way to use the discount unless you order five at a time and enter the word five in the discount box. So please use the contact us option or email me directly at admin@bondiband.com If you have any other questions please don't hesitate to contact me:) Rebecca

I had asked directly because I thought others (outside the princess thread) might want to order too!
Happy Shopping.

Busy, busy, busy...I got some ADR's today, got a car rental and am feeling better about all the plans coming together.

I ran this morning..I've been getting about 25 mile a week in, but no long runs.

Now for the house...it's a reck. I have moved all Nana's things here as we figure out what to do with it all. I haven't cleaned since this first of the month. That's when I put all the Christmas stuff away, it will be time for Easter before thing look "normal" around here. I hope.

I still want to make shirts for me and my girls for the race and find some white running skirts to dye to match.

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!pixiedust:

:rotfl: I wish! I was so excited about doing a 14 minute mile that I must have misplaced my brain when I was typing. Maybe it was the sweat in my eyes:rotfl2:

hey all good for you 14 min mile!
i am going for distance now... the longest i have straight run is 6 miles, but i plan on walking/running at disney... my runs are about 10 min miles, so i figured if i go easy for a bit and walk the water stations i can do it...

can anyway recommend some good socks?! everything i seem to use is rubbing the ball of my foot and i do NOT want blisters on princess day!!
that is my biggest concern!!

Stacie!!!! I have photos of you! I kept looking at them going.... I know these people. Mom managed to get photos of you and your DH in the race :thumbsup2 But consider this you are in GREAT company because I walked up to Matt before the race and asked where Cheryl was (his DW) and had to gloss over saying HIS name. For some reason Chad's name was popping up in my brain :confused3 I get to Mel and say "You have got to remind me... what is his name, I KNOW him. I have met him a few times, he was around me in the Marathon in 2008. He sorta made an impact on me. And yet I STILL had a brain freeze. :rotfl2: I mean how on earth can you forget MATT's name?

So let this be a lesson to anyone joining the group for their 1st race. Especially in MY case.... the brain sometimes needs time to catch up. And in the middle of a race regardless if the person is on the course with you or cheering we might have moments of DUH! And of course at 3 am pre-race. Usually by the time we meet at the finishline my brain is starting to function on 1/2 of it's brain cells. :rotfl2: That and the bib's have names on them LOL

Now one to the BUS question. We have been staying at OKW for the past few Marathon Weekends which as numerous bus stops normally. On Marathon Weekend you need to go to the main bus stop up front to get a bus to the Expo or any of the Marathon weekend races. I am guessing this will be the same for the Princess. But we will have to check this out when we get there but be prepared to walk to the front (probably the building/stop that has the store/restaurant). In 2006 we were at OKW and towards the back, the front desk told us the bus would come to our stop. Luckily more knowledgable weekeners walked by and 'picked us up' we did catch a bus back by us but he was LOST LOL he was never suppose to come back that far. this year w were on the same 'street' and had to hike it up to the front. frankly it wasn't bad, after all you are FINALLY moving and not laying in bed going thru the "What ifs" :thumbsup2

Stacie, I am at CBR too so maybe I'll just pound on your door in the morning :lmao: WAKE UP! LOL Although since I'm not a morning person you might be doing that to MY door instead. I arrive on Wednesday night.

WENDI!!! Go with the 2 miles in 14 minutes :thumbsup2 There was no video to prove you wrong LOL But regardless that is an excellent pace! Great job!!! i wish I could remember the part of Galloway's (think it was him) talk that said if you did the race say in 3:11 you get to say 3:00 because co-workers and such won't really know any better or look it up LOL So go with your story :thumbsup2

Beyond that I can't wait to see something new on the race weekend. Like the bus info. That was in the final instructions for the Marathon Weekend so it should be covered once they get them up for the Princess. I am ready for the next step. Give me my waiver. Give me the Final instructions and speaker lists. Yup, a lot of GIVE ME! going on today :upsidedow

I just thought of something... The two times we have attended marathon weekend, we stayed at POP and Poly. At Pop, there is only one area to get busses and at the Poly we took the monorail. This time we are staying at Carribean Beach. So...my question is this. For the tranport to the starting line, does the bus go around the resort and stop at each bus station or do you have to go to the main check in area?

Does anyone have any experience with this?

Hey all! That time sounds good to me Wendi. If you do that for the 1/2 you will be all set. I am hoping I can manage that for the whole race.

We have another snowy day here. My son is off school. Our street is not plowed. So glad I have a TM for my training.

Who was asking about socks? We had that discussion a few pages back. I have a couple pair of Smartwool which I love. Someone linked to wrightsocks which look awesome too. Even though I have way too many socks already, I may have to buy a pair or two of those.

I have just ordered my crank chair :cheer2: will be here in about 3 weeks, cutting it colse for the 5k, I think I will be using the 5k as a learning to use course not a race :rotfl:

lol! :lmao: That's funny. I'd love to see the photos if you have time to upload them somwhere... I've got some to post as well. Friday is my last day of full-time work so I hope to have some time to do that type of stuff next week.

So... all I've done this week is Step Class and then C25K W1D1. I wanted to the C25K workouts as my weekly workout. I missed yesterday and I will not get today in either. I hope to get D2 in on Friday and maybe D3 on Saturday, then our long mileage on Sunday.

I ordered a white tank from One More Mile... so comfy! However, the Short Sleeve I have must run bigger or the tank runs smaller because the tank did not fit! :headache: AND it's the biggest size they have. :headache: SO, now I'm thinking of just ordering the white short sleeve and maybe having somone cut the sleeves out to make it sleeveless. All this trouble. for a t-shirt! Can you believe it???

Oh... and btw, I don't think SIL and I will make the POR Meet, but has anyone decided if there will be a meeting place before the race???

Stacie

syko, do you mind enlightening the ignorant and letting me know what a crank chair is? What has been the journey getting Disney Sports to accept you as an entrant in that chair?

A crank chair is for people who can not (my case) or do not want to use a racing chair.
With a crank you sit in a netural position (legs out stright) and in stead of pushing the wheels with you hands you turn a crank to move the wheels.
My DR.s said that this was the only option they would reccommed for me as useing a racing chair could / would make my condition worse.
Disney had crank chairs at the marathon, they are a racing chair, which was the problem with my other chair which is a sports chair, but we have informed them too.

One More Mile Check the inside tag and see if the one you find running small is the womens. I find the women's XL not a happy training size for me. I like a bit of room, not swimming in it but a tad more. So I switched to the Men's and I'd have to check but either the L or the XL. I'm thinking L because I buy the Target's men's L. Now I think my OMM L is still shorter than the Target tech's but I grin and bear it since I like the funny sayings :) And I can totally believe it on the alterations LOL

I would imagine the morning of the race(s) people will spot the GREEN and gather. For the Half I think some meet elsewhere because both 2008 and 2009 Cam was in the same race as I and I never saw her pre-race. So I think they gathered by the W tent then moved in. But a group of us usually drop off our bags as soon as we get there and move thru to the Porta-Potty holding pen. We were up at the front where they let you thru to lead you to the corrals. And I'm sure we will be heading up there again for this race :thumbsup2 I'm sure you will find Mel, Pat, Anne and myself for starters up there since those 2 were there in January. Again it was 3 something in the morning so my memory is foggy as to all other. Hey I just remembered Anne! As I said.... FOGGY! I AM getting old. *sigh* Some are quieter thanks to the morning, the race or just plain shy but please make sure you come and join us and say :wave2: Hi. We (meaning I ) might just grunt :faint: , the :coffee: coffee pot wasn't turned on so again :scared: 3 AM! Can you tell I really hate that time of the morning? LOL

I finally got out for a short run this AM. I got in 2 miles - so that is 9.5 miles total that I have done since the full - YIKES - I really need to get on the ball with my training since the 1/2 is coming sooner then I would like!!. After this weekend and my long run I think I will get back into the swing of things. I thought to myself after my 2 mile run today that it was easier then I thought it would be - gosh my whole body ached before I went out but didn't seem to bother me after my run. Looks like I was just using the achey feeling as an excuse

:cheer2: I improved my time today!! I did 2 miles in 14:20 minutes:cheer2:

Either way- you deserve a big cheer for improving your time!!!! You're well ahead of the dreaded flag so well done.

I saw someone with one of those in a race over here- he was going incredibly fast and looked fairly comfy. I hope it comes in time for you and Disney are better about this one :)

I just did some swimming cross training today- was hoping to do long run on sunday but we're forecase bad (for UK!) weather so we'll see. I've just emailed bondiband- also wanted a couple of other ones :goodvibes
