Christine, for marathon weekend the buses run quite frequently, never waited for one at all. However, for this weekend not sure but I would hope it is just as good.

AND!!! for pasta something I learned during the Minnie meet. Riverside has a make your own pasta dish available.

Here's the description "Create-Your-Own Pasta - choose from a variety of favorite sauces and fresh ingredients including chicken or shrimp $9.19"

I had it but it went cold on me from all the talking I did. BUT they had a microwave there to reheat :lmao: It was good. Mom and Susan had theirs warm still. Susie & Cindy had it too and I can't remember if Denny and M'Lisse had it as i was being told to sit still and eat (Ahhh Mom!)

This is going on our 'race weekend' list of places to eat the night before. :thumbsup2

I had the alfredo sauce and thought it was yummy. It came with a piece of garlic (?) bread all i recall was that it too was yummy and wished it was still warm LOL

In defense of me talking too much and the food going cold that would have happened anyways since i rarely eat fast. :)

If I ever make our reservations we'll be at the Caribbean Beach. i want to try it out :) But 1st I have next week to get thru and then I will book and pay on the deposit. Taking DH to do the EE5K challenge and a weeks vaca there is going to make the bank account cry as it is :rotfl:

Vicki???? Oh my friend of the North! Miles is going to start his packing this weekend. I have to see if DH says 2 Pals or 1. Poor Miles went to the DL Half and never made it out of the room. LOL

Happy training this weekend everyone!!!!! Even with the other races on deck before the Princess I am really really looking forward to that weekend. It will be Susan's 1st time onthat course. I will FINALLY get to meet Vicki in person after having 'known' her for a bit now. It's going to be a GREAT weekend!!!

Ok, I have to tell you all....

It's official........

I just registered for the Disney's Princess Half Marathon in March!!

I blame ALL YOU people!!!! I swore in May that I wasn't going to do it, not into the whole princess thing, but all YOU WISH people just (my peeps) just kept up and now I'm in.

So I'll be there, not sure what hotel yet. Probably ASMo or Music or SPort (could always walk over from the other resorts for the bus - if not then POP and driving over. Or, if I end up going solo then I might be with Liz!!)

Couldn't decide which princess, didn't like the choices. Where was Minnie (isn't she the original princess??), Jazmin or Ariel?? I would've picked Ariel or Minnie. I ended up picking Cinderella, thought about all the cruelty she went through with the Step Mom and Step Sisters.

Off to add the logo to my sig.............

Thanks, Tracy

   GO TRACY!

we're at CBR, too

We're easy and happy to eat anywhere. Earl would be good. Riverside sounds nice, too. We could all crash on the beach at the Poly. I'm "thinking" they have pasta there, but I can't think why I think that so don't hold me to it.

Two more weeks of therapy and I'm released! :yay:

Congrats on joining us Tracy!!!!

Not sure if the poly has pasta/noodles.. i could do DTD i am pretty sure.. i really don't have any plans i have to stick to.. i'm pretty open.

Well i went out and did another 2 miles walk/run the other night.. noticed how dark it was at 7pm, and i have come to the decision that i can't be out at night much longer... it was pitch dark by the time i got back in at 7:45pm, and when i was running, i was watching the road so much so that i would n't step in a hole or something -- and when the cars went by their headlights acted like a "strobelight effect" and it threw me all off ---
However, in talking with DH he has decided that we should just get a new TM and then we can just pay on that instead of paying a gym membership.
So, when dh gets his cc bill and can order a new cc (he cut it up before since he wasn't going to be using it.. LOL) then we will get one!! I am so pumped now!!! I went out today and got a new pair of sneaks with some new inserts too.. i got a nice pair of Saucony's - running sneaks.. they are comfy, but i will try them out tomorrow maybe.
I had an expensive (100.00) pair of Brooks running sneakers before, but i honestly don't feel good running in them. I did the 5k in them in May, and have used them out at night around here.. but i like more of a cushiony fit.

Anyway, enough of my babble, i am just so happy that in about a couple weeks time i will have a new TM to train on!!

Caits: Congrats on the soon to be new member of your family! :rotfl: Lately I spend more time with mine than I do my DH! :lmao:

Tracy you know how thrilled i am that you're coming to the princess half! Think i've said it maybe 4 times now?!?! :rotfl: I really don't mind where we meet and don't have hotel plans yet, but sure can get anywhere anyway with magical transport.

I did a 10km this morning and man i have a lot of training to do. Did first 5km lap too quick and suffered for it during the second. Finished in 53 mins tho which was faster than expected. Just have no idea how i could do that distance again, ha ha ha. Time to go gel hunting i think! :surfweb:

Stacey--great news about the new TM!! Congratulations.

Kate, that is great time for the 10K. Was it a workout, or an organized event?

I was back at the cemetary for my walk today. Quite different without the wind storm!! There were still a lot of trees down, though none across the paths anymore. I am at the same pace--just under 15 minute mile--for my 2 hour walk. I think I totaled about 9 miles between walking to and from the car and my cool down. My legs were feeling it the last couple of miles. How will I ever keep that pace another 1+ hours? I guess that is what training is for.

It was an organised event otherwise i'd never have started so quickly! It was a 10km cabbage canter- ran for a lovely cabbage and medal ha ha in great scenery.

That's def what the training's for and you did great! 9 miles is a heck of a distance.... don't you forget that and your achievement today. Glad the wind's gone down tho :thumbsup2

Thanks, Kate.

Seriously? A cabbage?!

Or has something been lost in the translation? :rotfl:

Hey everyone! I keep reading this thread, but realized I've never actually posted here. I guess I'll be joining y'all come March! I'm Kayci, 38, live in Kansas City. I've been an off & on runner for years - most of my off periods coincided with pregnancy & the aftermath (go figure!) I did the Disney Marathon 10 years ago - I'd love to do it again someday, but that level of training is tough to fit in! Maybe when my 3 girls (and my husband) are a bit more self-sufficient.

I've asked my former running partner to meet me there and run together (she moved away from here a few years ago) but I haven't gotten a definite yes from her. Either way, I'll be there! Anyone in the 9-10 minute/mile range who'll let me tag along with you that day? I promise to work on some fascinating conversation topics between now & then. ;)

I imagine I'll be at the All-Star (whichever it was). I probably ought to call and get that reserved - has anyone heard whether things are filling up?

Christine: Yes Kate actually got a cabbage. She has a picture of her holding it.:rotfl2:

Kayci: Glad to have another lady on board to do the Princess Half!

Oh, I'd love to see that!!

Welcome Kayci!! I will be lucky to maintain a 15 minute mile--but hope you find someone!

Here I'll post the photo of Kate, I don't think she'll mind - it's on her facebook page.

Hey gang!!!!! Hope you all had a awesome weekend!!!!!!! Just checking in to say HI!!!!

Christine is my cabbage not a good enough reward for you :lmao: It was a novel event and just found out my official time was 53min 18secs which put me middle of the field.

Tracy thanks for posting my photo-was about to do it and saw you'd put it on already- superstar!

Kayci great to see you're signed up too!

Well, that certainly is a cabbage!!

In that case...

Hearty Cabbage Soup Recipe

Ingredients
6 cups boiling water & chicken buillon to match water amount
or
6 cups chicken broth
1/2 head of cabbage
4-5 cups cubed ham
2 large carrots sliced
2-3 med potatoes cubed
cut onion...amount is up to you..I like onion and used about 2/3 cup.
1/8 cup parsley
To Taste:
Garlic Salt
Garlic Powder
Black Peppers
Dash of Peppercorn
Sea Salt
White Cooking Wine
White Wine Vinegar
It's always good to start out with a small amount and add to it....

Directions
Add 6 cups water & chicken buillon (or 6 cups chicken broth) to slow cooker and turn on high.
Add cabbage, ham, carrots, potatoes, onion, and parsley.
Slowly add spices to taste. You'll smell the aroma when you get the right amount.
Let sit on high for about one hour. Then put on auto for 3-4 more hours.
Stir occasionally. Smell and taste to ensure proper amounts of spice are in it.
Serve with bread or crackers.
Great to store in freezer and have for other meals!
