Let's choose a day to meet at the Magic Kingdom and Disneyland en masse to protest the closing of VMK. Perhaps if a few hundred (or more) of us congregate near the entrance, or around the cashiers at the Emporium, or the busiest lines wearing Save VMK shirts, someone will take notice. I think we stand alot better chance of having TV pick up our story if there is a picture to go along with it. It may be easy to ignore our letters or email, but not as easy to ignore real people affecting business. Just a thought. Maybe some of you Dis-meet veterans could organize a rally or two...:cheer2:

im glad someone posted this suggestion to go in person! i would if i didnt live so far. that is one reason i think vmk is so great; it brings the magic kingdom to me. also consider visiting the offices in addition to the parks!

Isnt a hundred kind of a lot.........?

I'll bet there are a few hundred VMK players who live near each park. There are 6 annual passholders in my family who play VMK--the kind of people who love Disney enough to have annual passports are the same kind who would play, don't you think? And the kind of people who live near the parks and attend frequently would also be likely to play, and I'll be there are more than one player per family. Anyway, it made sense to me.

But of course, I haven't been in my right mind since I heard VMK is closing:scared:  :sad2: :sad1:  :scared1:

Chances are if you stage a protest, you'll be escorted out of the park, and possibly have your Annual Passes revoked. I wouldn't want that to happen, would you? :( I would say create Save VMK shirts to wear in the park, but just go about your business like normal. Maybe you could have a meet somewhere, but leave it at that. Anything that creates too much of a stir, security WILL put an end to.

I agree with this fully. I remember when "Who Wants To Be a Millionaire" closed a few years ago Disney wouldn't let News 13 on the Disney Prak grounds. The management at Millionaire were treating the 'Regulars' very disrespectfully. One of the regulars had an argument with the head honcho and decided to call the news station and had to meet them outside of Disney. One of the reporters came and did the story right outside of WDW accross from CrossRoads and did the story there.
Protesting at Disney World will get you escorted off the property by Disney Security or by Orange County Sheriff's Department. Also, they will most likely ban you from the parks. I really don't want any kids not being able to go to the parks because of this reason. My suggesting for WDW people who want to protest to do it outside of Disney just like the Millionaire 'regular' I mentioned above did (this wasn't a protest though).

Just my opinion

Hmm I actually thought of doing that just this morning when I saw a bunch of truckers driving to the whitehouse to protest the price of gas/diesel fuel. At least they made FoxNews!!! A physical presence, peaceful and respectful could get this at least on the news?? Not inside the park but somewhere close by on public property?? I don't live near either park so am not sure if there is such a place. Anyone out there that does know?

I live right near the WDW parks. Just like I said in the post above, a great place would be right outside the WDW gates across the street from Crossroads Shopping Center at Lake Buena Vista. News 13 did a story there in 2006 about how Disney workers were treating the locals. In my opionion as a local this is the best place for something like this.

I agree that a far better idea would be to pick a day to attend en masse and just go enjoy the parks like normal wearing your Save VMK shirts. Picking a time to meet together for lunch is about the furthest I would go in terms of a 'protest.'

And don't forget that we need to stay positive; this isn't about being angry at Disney (though a lot of us are) it's about showing them that we love this game and will invest time and money (mainly money, hehe) to keep it.
