Calling all Poly lovers

Ok if you had to make a list of your favorite long house down to your least favorite. How would you put them in order and why?

I thought this may be very helpful to all of us going there for the first time and who have been asking so many questions.
And also for those of us who are excited to go and just want to hear more about the Poly

1. Hawaii - location is central to everything, view
2. Tahiti - room size, "private beach right out back", secluded, view

Tahiti - on our first few visits we stayed in Rarotonga - which was okay.

also stayed in Tokelau - which was also okay.

but I just LOVE Tahiti - either garden view or lagoon view - my favorite!!!

1. Hawaii, only stayed there once, just too expensive.
2. Samoa, definetely Samoa, have stayed on lst floor, volcano pool view and 3rd floor facing Hawaii
3. Aeorotora (sp?) - Close to gch, but you might have to deal with luau traffic
4. Niue - used to like it when it was non smoking, right next to gch.
Could live with Rarotonga,
My choices are only because we like to be close to the gch for monorail, access to captain cooks and quicker access to volcano pool and bus stop etc. Some people prefer the more secluded longhouses, its really a matter of personal choice, but I definetely wouldnt want a 2nd floor room with no balcony, you already are paying an arm and a leg for a disney deluxe etc.

so what are there 11 long houses? I can't remember.... how would you rate them 1-11?

Hawaii...on the lagoon side...wonderful is the only wait to describe it.
Tahiti if all else fails. We always stay concierge so I am biased and spoiled. But we only do vacation once a year and splurge. If you can budget it you deffinatly won't be sorry!!

Haven't stayed there yet (that I actually remember) but soooo excited to be staying there 3/30-4/5!

I requested, in order:

(1) Fiji
(2) Tokelau
(3) Aotearoa

I've only stayed there once so far, but we'll be back and we'll be requesting Tokelau again. I was very happy with it, centrally located with easy access to both pools, beach, GCH and the TTC. Seemed to be a quieter area, it was wonderful!

Fiji - our "garden" view was of the marina, beach, Contemporary resort watching the monorail leave, and watching the ferry boat cross. It is very close to the GCH, pool, and is very quiet.

I stay Garden View and I would request the following:

1. Tokelau: closer to the quiet pool which we use more, and is equi distant gch and ttc for monorails. Rooms are slightly bigger as well.

2. Aotearoa: Fiji side garden view rooms have beautiful views to the marina or over to the Grand Floridian. If you want to see the monorail pass from your room, then the opposite side of this building offers great views.

3. Fiji: either side of this building will offer wonderful views of the resort.

We LOVED our first floor room in Rapa Nui (and we were on the parking lot side!) It was so nice to be close to the TTC. Having our rental car just steps away from our building was absolutely great, too. We appreciated the slightly larger room and larger bathroom with twin sinks.

Our least favorite was on the parking lot side of Aotearoa.

We've liked all of the longhouses we've stayed in. And someday, SOMEDAY the tiki gods will smile down upon us and grant us our request for Samoa!

Here's my preferences.

1. Hawaii -- Wonderful lagoon views if you can afford the Concierge price tag. I'll get there one day.

2. Tuvalu -- For a lagoon view, this is second only to Tahiti. There's no beach so you are truly 'on the water'. Absolutely gorgeous!

3. Samoa -- So close to everything and gorgeous views of the pool and grounds.

4. Fiji -- You get the grounds view or the marina view.

5. Tahiti -- On the beach

6. Tokelau -- Nice garden and quiet pool views.

I don't know about the other ones but these are the ones that stand out to me.

Which model is closet to the monorail & close enough to main lobby?

I have only stayed in two and it confused me alot when they changed the names of all the buildings. But, I'll try to help!

I loved Hawaii best for it's location. It was so handy for the main pool that I felt ok about the kids going there for a swim whilst I was in the room or in the concierge building - and it was easy to pop backwards and forwards to check on them. Please note - my kids can both swim and are a bit older - I wouldn't leave a small child to swim alone.

Plus it was convenient for the main building.

Now I stayed in Moorea and that was nice too. I think it is now called Tahiti. It is furthest away from the main building - nice bit of beach and also very close to the TTC for getting the monorail to Epcot.

But honestly I don't think the Poly has any bad rooms. All the rooms and buildings are great. I would say choose one near the main building and pool if you're going to spend a lot of time in the pool and using the facilities of the main building.

Or, if getting to Epcot quickly is important to you, and you would like a bit of peace and quiet and maybe use the quiet pool instead of the main pool then you should choose one of the buildings furthest away from the main building.

As for views - unless you're going to spend a lot of time looking out the window, I would go for a garden view as they're really nice. A couple of years ago, I had a Hawaii Lagoon view. The view of the castle was absolutely amazing. I deliberately slept with the curtains open so it was the first thing I saw in the morning. And it was very nice to wake up to the lovely castle view - but I only saw it for a few seconds every day!

I would hate to work out how much those seconds would have cost me on an hourly basis.

Fiji is our favorite garden view.

Hawaii of course if I wanted to go concierge or Tonga

When people say that Tahiti is close to the TTC... how close are we talking? When looking at maps it still looks like it is a bit away but from how people talk it is very close.

We stayed there several years ago I can't say how far exactly but it did seem closer than the walk to the either the main building or the boat launch.
I can't wait to go back! Next trip we will be staying in Hawaii. We are so excited!

Raratonga is the closest to the main house, and their garden view is really a monorail view
