What's happening with your weather now? Have the temps gone up any?

I caught a video clip on tv the other night about that 27 car pile-up in Atlanta, GA and the guy they were interviewing (probably mid to late 30's) was literally trying to hold back his tears while talking.. He was so frightened and so unaccunstomed to driving in that kind of weather - he was shaking like a leaf.. I really felt bad for him..

DD was telling me this morning that a lot of fruit and vegetable crops have been destroyed by this terribly cold weather.. Are you hearing that as well?

Hopefully things are beginning to warm up for you and you'll be back to normal soon..

We're supposed to have temps in the mid-30's tomorrow and the next day - which compared to what we've "been" having, will seem rather mild.. So far it looks like the weekend will be "storm free" as well..

I'm right by Disney, and it was warmer today - the high 50's and maybe even low 60's in the middle of the day. Tonight we're back down to the 40's I believe. It was much more bearable; I wore a long sleeved shirt to work and was fine, just a little cold in the wind.

The cold weather has seemed to really impact the citrus trees; I've heard a lot on the news about the financial issues cirtus growers are facing right now.

Most people in my neighborhood still have plants covered up with sheets to keep the cold off, but that should be uneccessary come the weekend - we should be going back up to the 70's!

Warm temps are expected by the weekend.
Sadly the citrus crop is taking a serious hit from all the cold weather.

I saw it hit 60 today, which is still way below normal, and we're still up for frost overnight tonight. We're hoping for 70 tomorrow.

That 27 car pile up happened on I 285 here in Atlanta. It happened just a few hours before my failed attempt to drive out of my subdivision!!

I drove up but WALKED down. The hill was pure ice!

I'm from the North but NEVER drove there. This IS new to me. The 285 pile up was due to black ice and a curve. 285 is a big circle around Atlanta we call "the perimeter".

Today reached the 40s and everyone was singing "We're Having a Heat Wave"!

Yep - that "black ice" will get you every time - even us folks up here!

Here in N. FL we are looking at our last hard freeze tonight. It should warm up starting tomorrow.

The citrus industry has taken a hit but so has the strawberry and sweet corn crops. They will be rarer and more expensive this year. Other crops will be delayed in coming to market because growers have held off putting the crops in the ground that they usually would have by now. Hopefully it will be more moderate here the rest of the winter.

When DH took the kids to school this morning, the temp in his car was 39. According to the forecast, it should have been several degrees higher. I'm in S. FL. I was looking at some of our plants in the front yard today and it looks like the Blue Daze aren't going to make it. Fortunately, the palms are all fine.
