Can anyone help me please :) I need to find out the easiest (and cheapest) way to get from Leeds Bradford Airport to Wetherby. Have been invited to a surprise 40th Birthday party, but the flights alone will cost nearly £100. Don't really want to fork out another £40 for a hire car, just to drive to Wetherby (and may not be sober enough to drive back to Leeds the next morning).

Grateful for any help/suggestions.

Thanks in advance :goodvibes

Hiya

Theres quiet a few buses to wetherby from leeds bus station, a taxi could be quiet expensive, I think the bus is the only way and a cheep option too

Thanks Anna. How far is the bus station from the airport?

hi.. leeds city centre is some way from the airport and the only public transport is a bus or taxi. a bus will take about 1 hour to get to leeds city centre dependant on traffic and time of day.
i m not sure about taxis. I live in south leeds and the last time I took a taxi from the airport it was about £25.00..

the airport isnt that far from wetherby really and I would suggest its better/quicker to consider a taxi direct from the airport to there.

The buses around Leeds can be unreliable quite often, they're my only form of transport into town so I'm well aware of this! I'd suggest forking out the extra for a taxi inj all honesty - buses in places you don't know well can be awkward and at worst dangerous.

hi, just asked one of my neighbours who used to use taxis alot through work, he says its about £35 for a taxi from the airport to leeds

true about the buse, they arnt nice, plus if you get on one packed full of kids its like hell!!!(lol and I used to be one too)

Leeds is actually further away from Leeds Bradford Airport than Wetherby is...so your best bet will be a taxi....otherwise you would have to get a bus to Leeds and then another one from Leeds to Wetherby which could take anything up to 3 hours and lots of waiting around

I agree, Wetherby is closer to Leeds & Bradford Airport then Leeds is.... A taxi would be cheaper straight to Wetherby than going via Leeds.

have a look at traveldirect.co.uk

it sugessted a two bus journey from LBA to wetherby....

you CAN can a bus from LBA down into Guiseley, then catch a train... but that would only take you to Leeds.

Thanks for all your suggestions - spoke to my friend's hubby this morning and he is going to arrange a lift from the airport for me. Bless him :)

great! give me a wave as you go past (I can see the airport from right here... or i could if it wasn't pitch black...)
