Calling all Harry Potter fans!! (SPOILER ALERT)

Ok, so I just finished the 5th book, and I'm dying to find out what happens in 6,7 and (maybe 8?)!!! Does anyone have any idea what the characters will be facing? When will the next book come out?

Personally, I suspect that Neville will play a bigger role in the next book. I also wonder whether we will discover that HE (Neville) was supposed to battle Voldemort later in life......

What do all of you think?

I agree though...I think alot is going to be happening on determing if Harry OR Neville is the real hero of these stories.

i wanna see some sparks between Ron and Hermione too.

And Fleur and Bill..hmmmm

i just can't wait for book 6 to come out...i've re-read 1-5 enough i think!

Harry definately will NOT die. My guess is Dumbledore will die, in order to save Harry. Or perhaps Neville will die in order to save Harry. There is no way Harry will die.

I read an interview with JKR recently and she said Book 6 is coming along nicely, but its out of her hands and in the hands of her publishers as to when it will be published. Hopefully soon, but I'm thinking 2005.

The last thing I heard was that she said "I don't have a deadline, I'm not giving myself a deadline, I'll finish it when it's finished"

My DD thought she heard somewhere that JKR was considering writing another series about Harry as an adult. (How's that for unsubstantiated rumor?)

I'm in the middle of reading book 5 for the umpteenth time. I can't get enough!!

I just read on www.mugglenet.com that movie 4 will be out in November of 2005. That is a great website for a daily Harry fix. It actually has an entire discussing on book 5. There are great about updating and wonderful for rumors and dispelling them!

I don't think Harry, our hero, will die, but I'm pretty sure Dumbledore will.

Is Harry and Luna and odd couple? I have a feeling something will come of that. Neville and Ginny? I think so too!

Will we hear from/see Sirius again? Gosh I hope so.

I can't wait to see what's in store for book 6. I'm dying to find out more about Snape and what's going on with him.

Something seems fishy (in a good way) with Lupin too...hmmm...

Can't wait!

I also agree, though I'm sad to say it, that Dumbledore will probably die....we've seen too many signs that he's getting older. As for Sirius, I'd LOVE to see him come back, but I don't know how that would work. Many of my co-workers, who are also devoted HP fans, are convinced that he will die and that another char. will become the central character. ....I don't know who to believe, but it sure is fun to guess

I keep wondering whether or not Snap has really changed....maybe he's still with Voldemort??!! And, what's the deal with Lupin? Will Ron and Herrmione ever become a couple? Maybe Harry and Luna?

Who knows......I just want to read 6 and 7 RIGHT NOW!!!!

I have also re-read Books 1-5 enough. I can't wait for Book 6.

I don't think Harry will die, mostly because I don't want him to die. You know that Voldemort has to die for sure, though, because I just can't fathom that J.K. Rowling will allow the "evil" to win out in the end, especially since she has taken so much flack from people who consider her books to be about the occult. And since Voldemort and Harry both can't survive, according to the prophecy, then the only two assumptions one could make is that either Harry lives or he and Voldemort both die.

Personally I think that Harry and Ginny should get together so that Harry can have the family he always wanted with the Weasleys. However, I hadn't thought about Harry and Luna, but she seems too spacey for Harry's taste. But maybe that is all an act of hers. You never know.

Dumbledore will probably die in Book 7, but if a "war" starts up, she could kill off quite a few people.

And, I can't wait to see Malfoy AND his father get theirs.

I love all of these great site to get my daily HP fix. The prophecy says that Harry and Voldemort can't both live, but it doesn't say anything about them both dying.....does it? Don't get me wrong I REALLY want Harry to live, I just have a feeling that he won't. Honestly, I'd like to see him become the headmaster of Hogwarts someday.....

I agree that Harry and Ginny would be a good couple, but Ginny seems to have moved on....
What do you think will happen with Percy?

I read that too and when I did my first thought was okay that means book 6 will arrive around May or Jun 2005 because movie 3 is coming out in Jun 2004. So Jun 04 and Nov 05 is a long time, kids could lose interest, let's get them ready for movie 4 by releasing the book in May or Jun 05 Really wishful/hopeful thinking on my part but it makes sense to me.

I thought book 5 did some nice foreshadowing of Harry and Ginny getting together. Remember Ron kind of said something that indicated he thought Ginny and Harry should be together. Maybe I read it wrong, but I kind of like the idea.

I think perhaps Malfoy will end up vanquishing Voldemort (and his father in the process). Suddenly, he's the hero, and Harry is totally forgotten in the books of lore. Ron and Hermione will have a hard time swallowing Malfoy as a hero, but Harry won't care because this enables him to live a normal life, which is what he's wanted all along. I'm also hoping for a Harry/Ginny match and definitely a Ron/Hermione match.

very interesting about Malfoy...

but I have a feeling that Malfoy will become a death eater like his father (maybe killing his father as Tom Riddle and Barty Crouch did)...I can just picture the ultimate duel between Draco and Harry occuring under Voldemort's watch.

I do hope that the Weasley's do become the family that Harry never had...or maybe Harry finds his grandparents...never any mention of them in the books thus far...

I read in an interview with JKR that Harry's grandparents have no part in the story. Too bad, that might have been very interesting.

I think JKR really dislikes the Malfoy character, so I don't see him doing a 360 turnaround. I do think she has mixed emotions about Snape -- he is based on her former Science teacher who was very tough but for whom she had a lot of respect. I think big surprises are in store for us regarding Snape.

I'd love to see Harry's parents come back to life, maybe if Voldemort dies they can? I think that Aunt Petunia is a wizard and she's been hiding it. Hopefully, she'll "come out" and help Harry get revenge for his parents' deaths. Poor Harry needs some family.

I'm going to start rereading Prisoner of Azkaban (again) so I can prepare for the upcoming movie - YAY!

Interesting ideas about Draco but there is one thing that keeps me from believing anything written here. The Sorting Hat and his warnings about how the 4 houses at the school must come together. In the end I belive they will and that Draco have an attitude adjustment and fight on the side of Harry. Voldemort killing his father will probably be the catalyst for it happening. They'll end up with a relationship similar to Snape and his relationship with Lupin and Black- disliking each other but working on the same side to overcome the bad guy But not before book 7! JMHO.
