I'm planning a trip to the world in June,We want to stay a GF for a week. My questions are:

1. Should I book my room/package now? Are wait till codes come out?

2. Are there codes for package bookings, we are really wanting to do this!
but if you thinks its better to get tickets and room seperate we can do that( I've done this in the past)

I quess my many question is book now or wait?

Also please remind we about cancellation?

Thanks for everything!!!

Are you prepared to stay at GF without discounts? Or is the only way you can stay at GF is with discounts?

I think you are better off getting your tickets separate from your room.

I hesitate to give you any definitive advice because tourism is rebounding now and some of the discounts are not as available as they once were. But if it were me, I would bypass any package that locks me in to a rate now, unless it was close to equalling what I could have gotten last year at the same time using the AP codes.

For the time being, I would make a reservation, asking for a AAA room rate only. This is only a 10% discount, but it is better than nothing, and it doesn't lock you into anything.

Then I would go to mousesavers.com to check the historic patterns for room rates for the time you are interested in next year, remembering that discounts aren't guaranteed.

Since the GF is so expensive, I would seriously look into buying one Annual Pass, even if you aren't going to be back again during the year. Since you will be going for a week and I believe that the breakeven point for purchasing an annual pass is about 9 or 10 days, you would be paying only about $100 or a little more for one park ticket than you usually would in exchange for saving as much as 40% on your room. (But don't actually buy the annual pass unless and until you get an AP rate - you don't need it until you check in and there's no point in getting one if it doesn't help you.) I would then figure out the total cost of buying all my tickets and room separately, assuming I could get an AP rate, and looking for the best ticket prices for the rest of tickets. (AAA offices and the REPUTABLE ticket dealers listed on mousesavers are usually less expensive than advance sales from the Disney website.)

Then I would keep comparing the total I got from this exercise with the total I get as packages come out. I'd jump to a locked in package only if the price of the package fell significantly below the AAA room rate + separate tickets, and to the point where my comfort in waiting to see if the AP rates came out (usually only a heart-stopping 2 months before a trip) was worth more than the additional money I might save.

I have always waited for the AP rates and had good luck with that, but we have annual passes anyway, so a package isn't useful to us in any event. In general, though, it is good to keep in mind that packages tend to lock you in, and room rates only can be cancelled up to 5 days before your trip with no penalty.

Have a great trip!
