Calling all Dolphin Pros!

Staying at the Dolphin in November for the first time and could use any and all help/advice!

We have a Teacher rate standard room but have the SPG points (and am a Gold member) to go up the 1,000 points to the Specialty 1 upgrade. Any specific room suggestions for the best room possible with a great view of Epcot for the fireworks? And does this upgrade give me Club level access?

Also, am trying to get the additional points to go up to the 1,500 a night for the Specialty 2 upgrade. What will this get me? Is it too much to plan on getting Club level access and an Executive Suite? Just need to know what to shoot for!

Any other suggestions for the Dolphin would be appreciated too!

I would try for the room /view upgrade with points. From there, you could probably then get a comp upgrade to CL with gold.

Ask for the EAST WING for an Epcot view at the Dolphin.

Definitely go for the east wing, Epcot view. Then ask for one of the rooms at the very end of the hall. It's a hike from the elevators but you get a huge "bonus" balcony.

THANKS! I got the End of East Wing request. What kind of rooms are at the end? Are their any Executive Suites down that way? I was hoping for a 2 bedroom Exec Suite upgrade and was wondering what type of room is at that East end.

What kind of room do you have booked now? I think it will be very hard to get an upgrade to a 2 bedroom Exec Suite, maybe a junior suite.

Or if you upgraded using points, it would be in the upper thousands....

The rooms at the end of the east wing with the double balconies are CORNER KING rooms. They seem to be a bit bigger than a standard room and do have the wonderful double balconies. The jr. suite is basicly 2 standard rooms with 2 bath rooms, etc. The Jr. suites do not have balconies but are great if you need extra room. We have Plat SPG and did get a comp upgrade to a Jr. Suite and LOVED it. DS is in orlando this week with his GF and did get a comp upgrade to the corner king room with CL. Everyone LOVES the corner king rooms at the Dolphin! Hope this helps!

One more question...going with my wife and 2 daughters (9 and 5 years old) for 7 days. Would the Corner King be better than the regular standard as far as space? Does the King come with a fold out bed? Never stayed at the Dolphin and want to do everything it make it a great trip for the family!

The corner king room is a bit larger than a standard room. It has one king bed and a fold out love seat. I think you would be better off with 2 double beds in a standard room. Ask for a standard room with a balcony and you can still be on the east wing. Of course you could get the corner king and request a rollaway for one of your DD's and the other could get the fold out. There is a charge for the rollaway though. Either way would work! I know you will love the Dolphin!

I said I won't ask any more questions of you but this one is from my wife! How large is the Murphy/fold down bed in the Jr. Suite?
