Hello - I'm planning my first trip to Disney next December. It will just be DH and myself going, and I've got a (preliminary) schedule of which parks to visit which days. Since I've never done this before, will those of you who have a lot of experience with Disney tell me if I've planned anything ridiculous? Here's the deal:

Thursday 12/7 - arrive mid-day, rest, MK for Dinner & MVMCP
Friday 12/8 - AK (AM), rest, DTD (PM)
Saturday 12/9 - Epcot
Sunday 12/10 - Epcot w/Candlelight Processional in Evening (Dinner pkg)
Monday 12/11 - MK
Tuesday 12/12 - MK w/MVMCP
Wednesday 12/13 - MGM
Thursday 12/14 - head home

We plan to go back to the resort (WL) for R&R each day and of course I plan to make ADRs for the restaurants we want to go to (we will do the dining plan). Am I crazy for doing Epcot on a Saturday even though it's value season? Should I add a day to our plan and just skip parks on Saturday? I used the Unofficial Guide to figure this up, but I'm not sure how reliable they are with their Best Park/Worst Park guide. I appreciate any feedback on this! Of course we are flexible and will change our plans if we see they won't work or if we feel like doing something else, but I would at least like to have some plan going into the trip.... Thank you!! I'm very excited about this trip, even though it's over a year away! :Pinkbounc

Welcome to the DIS boards!!! Your plan looks fine. But, be aware..it will change many, many times before you go!!! Most of us can't decide on which resort to stay at, and change our minds several times...let alone what parks on what days. Have a fun year planning....stay here on the boards. Lots of great info.

Hi -
My only suggestion is that you may want to visit MGM earlier in the week, because what if it turns out to be your favorite?????
No - you are not crazy for doing Epcot on a Saturday, it is so spread out that I have never found it to feel too crowded (Okay, maybe New Year's Eve!).

I agree - I'd mix it up a bit more, rather than clump your Epcot and MK days together. I'd go to MGM earlier (I love MGM - Tower of Terror and Rock and Roller Coaster can't be beat!). You might decide you like it so much that you want to go back!

I think the only parks to avoid on the weekends would be MK and the water parks (apparently all are favorites with the locals).

Just went at the end of October for a week with a party of 4 adults. Because we went during Food and Wine Festival time, we "hopped" to Epcot every day, so our trip wasn't exactly typical (we probably wouldn't have done that if that event wasn't happening). Be sure to note which parks close early, too -- often Epcot stays open the latest, and AK closes the earliest.

Also, we built in a "free day" in the middle of our week. That gave us a chance to go back to see something we really liked, but felt rushed seeing the first time.

Good luck planning! Keep watching the boards - they give you great ideas about how to schedule your time!

I agree with everyone else. You might try doing MGM earlier to break everything up. I love MGM. RNR and TOT and Who wants to be a millionaire are all great!
