proper shoe attire for the theme parks. I wanted to start this thread because I just look at badshoe.com....all I can say is "What are they thinking?" Comfortable shoes are a must for Disney. You will walk...walk..and walk some more during a 7 day visit.

I will start off with my comfortable, sensible, shoe recommendation:

Nike Santiam $40.00 or Nike Straprunners $40.00:

Both these shoes are Nike sandals with great arch support and adjustable straps. Both these shoes are non-marking --- meaning they won't leave those black scuff marks on your floor.

My daughter and I wore the Nike Santiam on our spring Vegas Vacation and wore the Nike Straprunners on our Summer 2004 Disney vacation. Feet felt great at the end of the day. Great to wear on water rides because your feet dry out and don't stay soaking wet like tennis shoes do.

Okay - DIS vets roll call for recommendations...it is my personal mission to save at least one-pair of feet from torture as display on badshoe.com

Teva sport sandals. I wear them all day long and they even get wet without problems.

Whatever shoes you intend on wearing, make sure you wear them enough before your trip to break them in. Often, people save new shoes for their trip and end up with all kinds of pain. Plus, I really recommend wearing socks. When I am going to the parks day after day, regardless of matching my clothes, I wear my crosstrainers with socks (the cuffless kind you can't see). It may be a scary fashion statement, but my feet feel great all day.

Do not wear new shoes to Disney.

You are very smart! I love my Reeboks and have worn them for many years. However, this last time I brought my new pair and was bombarded with blisters! YIKES! Thank goodness I brought plenty of bandaids to cover them up so I could keep on going! :cool1:

Teva's or Soloman water shoes. Both have good support and both can get wet.

I also have a pair of well broken in hiking boots that I will wear when I know that I won't be getting wet or if it is cold.

Oh my! These pics CRACKED me up!!! I can't even imagine how miserable those people are!

On the advice of some other folks on the boards, I bought a pair of Keen sandals; the Newport model. www.keenfootwear.com They're cool looking, very sporty but they don't exactly match some of the clothes I'm planning on taking (sporty shoes with cutesy clothes.....) but I don't care! My feet are too important on this trip!

And I might even end up on that website b/c I do wear socks with them (not all the time, though) but they're the short anklet socks which look a little better. And the model on the website is wearing socks with hers! :rolleyes1

Here's hoping our feet have a great trip!!!

Just when I thought I saw it all when I found DIS I now find badshoe.com :rotfl2: OMG. "what were they thinking" is an understatement.

I've already started my search for my girls shoes for Disney (going April 25). Unfortunately they need new ones each year b/c they grow every 2 minutes ;) .

Sandals don't seem to be out yet :cold: (I'm in Canada). Not a huge variety anyway. I don't want to spend tons but I was hoping for the teva/sport sandal type. Right now I really only see girlie "dress" sandals not appropriate Disney or even active play out in the summer everyday type sandals.

I need footwear. Oh the humanity! I girl who wants shoes (for her 3 & 6 yr old DDs) and doesn't know where to find them.
