Calling all CT traders

You are all great sending me the e-mail addresses of the people who are new to trading and will be attending our next meet. I wrote to them all to welcome them, hope we don't scare them away. lol

Now I have someone for you all to welcome. She is not an "Official" Ct trader, she lives in Albany NY, close to CT and Mass, but she is close enogh to come to the meets I hope.

to our pin group and let her know where you are from. She might be coming ot our April meet if we all show her how much we want her there.
Caroline and Roger, especially you, since you live the furthest away, let her know what a great group we are. Of course I told her a few times already, but she has read the SPEEDO posts, her vision of me might be a little slanted. Peggie

Welcome Happy Birthday Cat!!

Pin meets are held on the second Saturday of each month at the Westfarms Mall in Farmington, CT under the escalators in front of the Rainforest Cafe from 3:00pm until closing. We usually eat dinner, around 5:00pm and then hang out at a coffee shop until closing. Below are the remaining pin meet dates for 2003.

Yes, do come to CT for a meet. We have sooooooo much fun. If you want to come earlier in the day and leave earlier to get back to Albany, just let us know and we will start before 3:00. There are usually a few of us who start early, anyway; we love it so much.

And Mario didn't mention it, but the October 11th meet is actually a two-day event. We meet at the Residence Inn in Southington and trade for 24 hours (from noon Saturday to noon Sunday). Book a room and bring family and friends for a nice weekend.

I have only been to one meet but it was a great one... They sure do a good job on them. Now that I know they meet till late in the night I can get down to another...

I have made the trip a few times and always had a wonderful time. Great people and great pins and DIsney talk - what more could you want.

I can't wait for our next one. I really enjoy the company and if I trade any pins, well, it's a bonus! It seems like it will be forever until the next one even though we all just had brunch!

Lisa, hope you can make it again...I think the mall is closer to you than the brunch place was, right? And Nat...we usually stay so late that the mall has to kick us out!

This time, I'm coming alooooooone....bwa hahahhaha....

GORSH.......Thank you all for such a warm welcome!!!! I am really looking forward to my first pin meet, whenever that will be! As I told Peggie, we are leaving for FLA just 4 days after that meet, and I don't think I'm that organized to pull it off. But you never know. Do most of you travel alone, or with family members? And what about kids? (straight talk only, please!!) I want to observe proper pin meet etiquette!! And please, call me Martha, or HBC

Hi Martha,

Since the mall is about an hour and 15 minutes for me, I don't bring my two younger children as we're normally there from 3:00 p.m. until about 10:00 p.m. and they just wouldn't last. Sometimes I bring my oldest (age 11). He normally brings his chess set and spend almost the entire time playing chess with Joanne's husband Randy. (He played Dom one time too...but I won't discuss the outcome of that game in order to preserve Dom's dignity.... ) He spends some time looking at and trading for pins, but anything over a couple of hours would get tedious for him too.

I just talked to my sister, who lives in Torrington Ct. and it turns out that is the mall she usually goes to. I know it takes me 1and 1/2 hrs. to get to her house and then another 1/2 hour after that, which isn't too bad. I don't know if I'll make it until 10pm though (yawn). My 14 year old guy would love to come too. He is a pin fanatic, right down to the pin vest. He is actually a Scoopie, too, having received a scoop pin from the great one in February. Then I have a 10 yr. old chip n dale collector....sometimes wonder what I have created.......

Unfortunately, if we brought the lutefisk into West Farms Mall our days of laying low and hiding from security would be at an end... they'd smell us coming! Maybe we'll have to save the lutefisk for Fall Foliage.
